LGM Guitars and Grafix Update - 12/15/2006

Here's a news bulletin from Jeremy's site. If you don't have a current order for a Leviathan, it doesn't look as if you'll be able to order one in the near future. The good news is that his paint shop business is doing extremely well...

"LGM Guitars & Graphix update December 15, 2006

We at LGM Guitars would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a
Happy New Year!

This past year has brought many many changes to the LGM shop. Housing a
full body shop and paint facility the Graphix side has exploded. This
could not make us happier. Regretfully we have made the decision to
discontinue building and modifying guitars by custom order. We are so
busy with painting that the time for building guitars does not exist. We
are still continually working to complete a few final guitars for
customers at which time upon completion we will ONLY be building guitars
as time permits. These guitars will be offered for sale on the website
when completed. This was not an easy decision to make as the Leviathan
series guitars still garner an intense amount of interest. As a result we
do not want to never build them again, but as mentioned, they will be
built only as time permits and sold only when completed.
Thank you to all of our past customers for your patronage, and thank you
to our new customers who have turned LGM Graphix into a thriving paint
shop.

Please feel free to inquire with us about custom paint work on cars,
motorcycles, or almost anything else!

Jeremy"

Figures. It's the best move as a business, no one should be surprised.

The good news, is that there is a good chance that one of the guitars that he builds, and then sells, will be a lefty 7.

Its a shame.

But its the right move. As a pure paint business I'm sure he will keep going from strength to strength. And he is still one of (if not the) best painter around. So on that front its great news to see him doing well.

^That's actually how I was going to get my 7, but 24 fretter and a neck pickup.

Re: LGM Guitars and Grafix Update - 12/15/2006

Hey guys,
I thought I'd chime in here. I am hoping that one day we will be able to do the Leviathan guitars again, I've invested so much time and money into them that I hate to stop building them. When time permits I will build guitars again, but currently I cannot take orders. I have dissappointed far to many people with WAY missed deadlines. I have no excuses except my own inexperience in running a business when I started. The guitars I am still finishing up should have been finished before I moved to the coast and opened the body shop but I made some seriously bad moves and now am paying the price. I have talked with a couple of manufactures who were serious about taking over the line, unfortunately after reading countless reviews on these manufactures both here on jemsite as well as on the web, I do not want to turn the line over to them. Quality will always be first on my agenda. As such the line will be put on hold for now. I am down to about 8 guitars that need finishing now, once those are done I will look at outsourcing parts somewhere to get the necks and bodies built. Then I will finish them as time permits and offer them for sale.
Thank you for your compliments, support and patronage, this won't be the end of the Leviathan's, just a break I suppose. I love the guitars and everyone who has received one has loved them as well, if I can find a shop who will do the guitars justice then perhaps I'll start having them done completely in another shop.
As for right now, the paint shop is booming which is good, without the paint work coming in I'd be totally broke and have no shop to finish the guitars that are here. I know some will be critical of me for taking on other work when there are still guitars to be finished but as I say, if I don't take on the other work I will be bankrupt and the other guitars will never be finished.
There have been a few go out recently and the owners love them. Here's pictures of the last 2 that just shipped out recently.

Thank you to all who have supported LGM and have a fantastic Christmas!

I was gonna try and sink a neck pickup under the board like Uli's guitars.
