Major issues with Ed Roman's guitars

I bought a rare piece from Ed Roman's guitars. When I received the item I did not like the feel and called to get a return authorization. I got a RA number. I packed it up and took it to the UPS store because it was oversized for USPS except for parcel post. So I ship it back (took 8days UPS ground). I track my package and it said package was refused and was being shipped back. So I call UPS and they tell me basically ED Roman's owed them money and they were place on a do not deliver to status. I call ERG and through much headache he said the problem was solved. I get a phone call from UPS saying they were going to redeliver the next morning. Needless to say, the next morning it tracked as on its way back to me. I spent many calls with UPS and they could not stop and re-route it. SO it is going to be redelivered here so I had to change my vacation lans because it would be delivered here while I was gone and my UPS guy leaves stuff because my sig is on file. SO we wait to find out they redelivered it to the UPS store and they did not bother to call me.

SO I make UPS pay to ship it back to ERG overnight and leave on vacation. Tracking said ERG received it. I call them and they say they got it and my refund was posted. Well it is 2 weeks later and still have not received my refund. Many attempts to speak to their manager with no return phone calls and was even told that the manager was in a meeting with the legal department to see who owed me the money. Finally, had my wife call and the manager quickly took her call. Told her he knew nothing about it and he would take care of it. The packaged was sent to his attention and I know they knew about it because the item was back on their site. SO we will see if I ever get my refund. I have a buddy who just informed me he had placed a deposit on a guitar that was supposedly on it's way to ERG time went by, no guitar. He cancelled his order and basically had to get a guitar for the price of his deposit just to get his money back.

This was the worst customer service I have ever had. Rude on the phone. I love their custom work but will never deal with them again.

The real issue was "YOU" dealing with the likes of Ed roman!
so do not act surprised!!! that is why he has such a bad rep!

I'm sorry for you - but Ed's reputation is quite well known world-wide.
I'm amazed you got anyone on the phone as they are closed down now....

I think someone bought ERG. I was told the legal department had to determine which owner owed me the money.

Just wanted to update. I actually did receive my refund yesterday. The new owner must be better!

I came on here about a year ago telling a story of a SK I way overpaid for from that a hole that I was told was mint but was far from it and got nothing but abuse and pretty much called a lier by lots of guys here on jemsite. I'm glad ER has finally been exposed. By the way, $3,500 for a beat up SK, in-store credit only. I got one off the bay later that was way closer to mint for about $1,800. Much more realistic.

You need to let that one go. The "abuse" you got was razzing from only a couple people, and that was about the LNG, not the SK. Either way, it's time to get over it. Glad you eventually found the SK you were looking for.

ER's reputation was well known on this site long before that. Anybody doing business with him will always get a frosty response in this crowd.

Perhaps the new owner will bring about a much improved level of service.

Check the forth post down on that link, it was all ed roman and that SK. I got over it pretty quick, and I got most of the guitars I'm looking for so who cares anyway right?

Whenever I go to an online store to buy something and I've never been there before I always check them out on www.resellerratings.com I'm sure there's alot of people out there that have no idea about Ed Roman. So, if you an experience that you want to share do a review at resellerratings.com You'll be helping others in their decision to buy from him or not. Right now he's got no customer feedback on this site.
