May be able to buy a Vbk, worth it?

Hi there. I may have the oppertunity to buy a cheap Jem vbk. I love the look of it with the green vine and think it looks sweet. The thing is, as their pretty old how do they normall shape in :/ the one im after is said to be in 'players condition' with the trem to be chipping black paint. I assume its usual for a guitar of that age yeah?.

It would be nice to get it if i could, but id like some opinions on it please.

they also dont strike me as the most popular Jem model, is that for a reason? or am i imagening it

Also, whats an average price of a used vbk thats been played in a bit

The vbk has the same features like all the older jems: It has the dimarzio pafs and matched singlecoil. It has the same bridge, same wood, neck.

The reason why this guitar is not as popular is because it is always compared to those great looking swirls.
If you hate swirls and love a good playing rock guitar, and a more moderated look, the vbk will fit your demand.

This guitar is only seen as inferior because of the different looks imho.

The trem will be 'eroded' like on my 89 DY jem. normaly it has no effect on tone and playability or tuning stability.

If you like it...go for it.

I'm one of the minority in likeing the VBK and UV7bk (777? green dots dudes) And just love neon green against black,Hell, when i was racing RC cars my colour scheme was neon green and black *grins like a cheshire*

I say go for it...I've yet to hear of an Ibanez trem corroding to the point it does'nt work,And i have 2 edge's that are in BAD shape but work perfectly

GO FOR IT !!!

Rob *wonders if it's on EvilBay*

I used a 7vbk for 12 years, and counting.

Fantastic.

And it holds a spot dear to my heart, that can't be replaced. It was THAT good.
