No problem, I'd hope that someone would do the same for me if I did similar

Re: Real or fake Jem auction on e-vil-bay?

I got a sincere reply from the seller, who's a real nice guy and wasn't trying to get over on anybody. A typical scenario for this kind of stuff actually. Here's a snipet -

""This guitar was a gift to me this christmas. I did not want the guitar (I
do not enjoy guitars with a floyd rose pickup - I play almost strictly PRS
Guitars) and took it to a Guitar Center to have it evaluated (to see what
it would be worth to sell). They told me that it is a Korean model and was
worth less than the Japanese version and would sell for about $1000 new.
This guitar was never played more than a couple of times by me, and so
this is how I set the Buy it Now price, etc."

Re: Real or fake Jem auction on e-vil-bay?

OK, I bought this guitar, RICH, did you also?? I received this same letter this morning about it was a gift, the Guitar center , etc. I put a stop payment on the bank draft, but i see that Paypal beat me to the bank. They got the money. this guy said that he would be understanding If i dodnt want to complete the transaction, so i told him i would like a refund to avoid any long arbitraions with e bay.
But now I see that the same deal may have gone done with more than just myself. If anyone else has been victim to this scam, I would like to talk to you.

Re: Real or fake Jem auction on e-vil-bay?

I just started my claim with Paypal, and they will be contacting me. I want to make sure I am 100% correct when i talk to them. Am I correct when I say that Ibanez does not produce a Jem VWH in Korea. Thery're made in Japan. So, by purchasing a Jem VWH, I would be led to reasonably believe that this is a Japanese guitar and the real thing. The seller told me AFTER the purchase that it was indeed a Korean guitar, therefore proving that it is not even produced by the real Ibanez company. Then, after seeing that another person may have received the exact same letter, I am convinced that I should have no problem getting a refund after a long drawn out arbitration. Any suggestions anyone? (other than ask 4000 more questions and ask for DNA samples before I make another purchase??)

True, no such thing as a korean 7vwh.

I don't think that you'll have any problem here, it's blatantly fake and was sold as the genuine article.

I would've give the guy a chance to refund you before going to PayPal though.

Re: Real or fake Jem auction on e-vil-bay?

In the beginning, i offered the guy a chance to refund the money. then I come here and see that someone else got the same response letter as myself today. At this point would you still be questioning the chance of this being a scam? How many of these guitars did this guy get as christmas gifts?? Maybe he'll come clean and refund the money. But I'm not wasting any more time when I see these kinds of clues.

there's no harm in getting the paypal process started now - it's a fairly drawn-out process anyway.

Re: Real or fake Jem auction on e-vil-bay?

Rich wouldn't have bought it (lol) I think he was just questioning the seller about it (Rich?)

Try and get the money back from the seller first, no point in getting a negative feedback for being hasty.

Having said that, I've not just spent $1000 on a fake Jem. Do whatever feels right just don't slander the guy because then he has ammo and it could come back to haunt you, be nice and polite with him (until you get your money back at least). You are in the "right" here so just be careful how you tread.

Re: Real or fake Jem auction on e-vil-bay?

How did Rich have the exact same "word for word" letter as me then?? weird. It was a response from the seller when I questioned the guitar. I get that letter expaining that it was a gift, he took it to GC, plays PRS, ...word for word. Something's fishy, but I'll give him a chance to respond.

Re: Real or fake Jem auction on e-vil-bay?

I think Rich was probably telling the guy that it was a fake and not to charge so much for it and this was what the guy claims happened. Trust me, I wouldn't be happy either, but give him a chance first, then if all else fails, ****ing nuke him with whatever you've got, lol

Re: Real or fake Jem auction on e-vil-bay?

Theres just to many of these fakers on Evilbay i spend at least a hour a day looking at the fakes & the rip off sellers, i'm so supprised how shifty these f#ckers are, my list is to big but i will look into finding any victims of these sellers on the web in sted of Evilbay & post it up on Jemsite in the hope no bros get done over buy them!

Jemsite bros its a new sport to get into, just type in your web search the name of the seller or other to see what you can dig up, the truth is out there!

What I really dont get about this sellers is this:

If you know you are selling a fake, and despite that you advertise it as the real thing. You describe it as a /VWH, you quote Steve Vais name, etc, etc,e tc knowing its a fake. Why dont they go the extra mile and post pics of a real 7VW?

You are either honest or a sumbag, make up you mind!

Some of the Chinese sellers do unfortunately.

I hate to say it, but as a rule of thumb I'd never buy anything from over in China (BTW that's just me looking out for myself, certainly not being racist) Having said that, I think the market has been flooded with these things now so you should be cautious no matter where you buy from, but I guess that goes without saying.
