musicians friend.com and Guitar Center
Hi all, Got a quick question,
Whats up with musicians friend stock? Im on the lookout for a new
acoustic guitar
, was browsing trough some martins/gibsons/taylors @ Musiciains friend website , And noticed that they have a serious problem with their stock. first of all, ALOT of models are missing, and most of the ones that do show up in the site are " out of stock , delivery time is xxx".
Now, I understand that musicians friend is the online shop for guitar center?
Does this mean that what I see on the website represents Guitar Center stock? or both these animals are not related and guitar center lineup will include all the missing models (maybe ill order from GC.. thats why im asking)
Thanks
David

Re: musicians friend.com and Guitar Center
It's true that Guitar Center owns musicians friend, but I don't think that they necessarily carry all of the same stuff. I know that the last time I went to Guitar Center (which was a few days ago) they had a much larger
electric guitar
selection than musicians friend. I'd have to say that they had a few different acoustic models as well. So if musicians friend doesn't have what you're looking for, then it can't hurt to check out GC.

Re: musicians friend.com and Guitar Center
You must have a better GC than I have near me. They don't have hardly anything except Squier Strats and other low-end stuff. I saw a JS1000BP once, but forget about ever finding a JEM or something like that. I've always had much better luck finding things at MF than GC.
Having said that, there are plenty of other places out there to buy from as well. And you can't expect dealers to always have every model in stock. It just doesn't work that way. Sometimes waiting a couple months for that new axe is just part of the deal.

Re: musicians friend.com and Guitar Center
You know, I don't think I've ever seen a Jem at a GC....but I think that has more to do with the fact that the average person who walks into GC isn't going to spend that kind of money on a guitar, so carrying them wouldn't be cost effective. Plus, MF has all the high-end stuff like that so you can always get it from there.

There is a 7VWH, at our GC. It's about fifty feet of the ground, high above an ocean of imports. I'm just glad that we have a local shop that carries Ibanez, FINALLY. (They just opened a few weeks ago)

Re: musicians friend.com and Guitar Center
my local shop will probably never get a jem or something like that in, the
local guitar center
had one jem in opening day and i've never seen one since, i did see a used universe with the pyramids and fun stuff though last time which was a nice suprise. I've had to resort to the net to get my jems. Plus none of the damn places can set them up so i always do it myself. The local shop was clueless about my edge-pro last time, even though they are a
Ibanez dealer
