Need some advice concerning a vendor not delivering the product

Hi,
this is going to be pretty vague at this point
but I currently have a luthier building me a guitar.

When I ordered this guitar back in Sept 06 I was told 4-6 weeks.
It has now grown to 47 weeks and I still dont have it in my hands.

Im not at the point of disclosing names...etc
but I would appreciate some info on what steps I can take
to get my money back. ($1400)
He lives a few states over so I cant exactly drive on by.

I have asked 2 times for a refund (today being the 2nd) via email.
The first has fallen on deaf ears.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Are we talking about a current vendor, or former vendor Legacy Guitars?

Vendor doesn't mean site sponsor, it just means vendor.

It really depends on his background. can you locate or contact any other costumers of this vendor?

IF you don't have it, get his personal info, something that can be obtained from the WHOIS look up of his/ her/ their domain name. Contact them and find out what their intentions are. Either come to a resolution or let them know that you will be contacting the local authorities if they don't want to comply.

Best of luck either way, I hope you get what's owed to you.

Do you have some sort of written agreement or communication logs with this vendor? Personally, I'd get my money back. I hope everything works out.

Phone them up and don't take any crap.

Demand all money back, or the guitar delivered within a month along with some money back for the ridiculous delays,

Did you use a cc? I had an issue with an **** deal with someone who is now a site sponsor/vendor here. Never got my item, nothing but excuses then justy wouldn't reply. If it wasn't for the fact I used a credit card I would've been screwed. If you used a cc contact the company for a reversal.

Good luck with your situation.
