Not for posting JEM/UV ads. Not for posting dealer/broker ads. Not for advertising ebay auctions. This is to chat about resellers, various gear in question, odd items or the people selling them.

Shouldn't there be a "JEM Jr." on the headstock as well?

Laugh at this one....
250064847163
Apparently this is a "prototype" that doesn't even look like the real thing. I asked him to post a pic of the plate and a straight up front shot of the guitar to tell where the
pickup switch
is located. He even had the guts to post a link to the page in Steve's site that shows a picure of the guitar in question.
So, while I was comparing photos, I noticed:
1. The pickup switch isn't in the same spot as the one on vai.com
2. The dings on the back are not in the same spots
3. There's a ding missing on the inner part of the front upper horn
4. The serial number doesn't match the one on vai.com
I wrote an email to Steve's site inquiring about that guitar. Hopefully someone will write back soon. Below is the link on Steve's page, take a look for yourself and be the judge.
http://www.vai.com/Machines/guitarpages/guitar022.html
What do you guys think?

Re: New auctions to laugh at
Isn't the serial number only on the back plate of these? If that's the case, the number he posted, along with the one on Vai's don't match. as I understand the description in his auction, he's saying that the guitar he has for sale is Vai's.
Look at the the front shot of the guitar and look at the pickup selector, then look at Steve's, they are not in the same spot. Shouldn't they be on the same spot if the guitar he was talking about was the prototype model Steve owned????
I'm not questioning whether or not his guitar is an Ibanez, what I'm questioning is the fact that he's claiming that his guitar is the exact guitar Steve owns.

Re: New auctions to laugh at
I hate being the A-hole in the picture. The guy just wrote me and said that this isn't Steve's own guitar. It still leaves the issue of a poorly written description that leads people to think he's selling the actual guitar, which I thought he meant. Also, I don't think this is a proto model, according to the catalog.

Re: New auctions to laugh at
He thought the P stood for prototype. That's what happens when you research models at vai.com instead of jemsite
