I'm guessing the guy that sold it to him said, "It's JUST like a JEM." So now he want a JEM price for it. But with zero feedback, he'll be lucky to sell it for the $350 it's worth.

Umm, sorry, but do you really think a brand-new 20th Anniversary RG is only worth three hundred and fifty bucks?

It's a 550. 20th anniversary or not, $350 is what it's worth. Maybe $400. You can buy RG 550's and 570 everyday on the bay for $300. I threw in another $50 because it's in new condition. But people don't buy 550's to collect them. They are giggin guitars, players. That shiny yellow is just beggin to get used and abused like any good RG should. If you want a collector, get a J Custom or Prestige.

Re: New auctions to laugh at

I agree with Darin. I don't get the hype at all. It's obvious it won't be a collector. Just like a Les Paul reissue is going to be worth more than the original. Right. I bought one back when big hair and feggy colors was the rage. I'm so glad I'm over that. Paying anything over 500 buck for a 550 is making some Ibanez salesman laughing till milk comes out their noses.

Re: New auctions to laugh at

That's hillarious.

Anybody ever see a truely dead mint 1987 550 sell for anywhere near $350?

But you can buy a brand new and improved one for little more than a 1570? Nah, can't be worth it?!

How's the quality of a 2001 root beer 570 compare?

I think the body shape looks rather messed, especially the horns.
