Re: New auctions to laugh at

The 555 lefty IS very rare - less than 300 ever made from what I hear.
It was available to "made to order" and after only recieving a handfull of requests Ibanez stopped making them.
The body is obviously basswood but other than that the guy is pretty much spot on and I won't be suprised if this fetches the $2000 AUS

Re: New auctions to laugh at

It's justifiable price. Only 300 are made as someone mentioned. Those should fetch a price of a 7VWH. o_O

I'd argue against that.

People are willing to buy it at that price for a reason. Something that's rare, and in demand, will fetch a high price. Period.

Re: New auctions to laugh at

Im not sure what the 555L situation in Australia is, but just because one or two people are willing to pay 2k AUS for it, doesnt necessarily make it a justifiable price. This isnt exactly a DNA or anything. Just because there is only X number of the 555L's (Where does it say only 300 made btw?) doesnt necessarily make it in high demand. (Look at the auction, only 5 bids, between two people.) It is true however that a guitar is worth what a person will pay for it, but if I bought that guitar for 10k, it doesnt mean that it is worth that price.

And fettouhi, I haven't seen a pic of your 555 on here before. What's up with that

All the details are obviously from a different (acoustic) guitar, just bad editing I suspect.

Re: New auctions to laugh at

Wrong description or not, that thing looks awesome. Alder body and an ebony fretboard and it'd practically be my dream guitar.

Is that price normal in the UK?
