It's fine with me, but it's not how it works.

Buyers trying to get the guitar a cheaply as possible? How utterly selfish of them. Wouldn't it be so much better if they just sent you a blank cheque?

Well technically no, it's not. But doesn't it irritate you? I've sold loads of guitars on there with (realistic, not sky high) reserves, only to have about 5 guys afterwards saying that they were going to bid but didn't for X reason. It's just my way of making sure that people bid what they are willing to pay.
If it was up to me I think **** should actually implement a rule that states you can't bid when there is 30 minutes or less to go, unless you've had a previous bid in the auction.
Come on guys, let's get along here, I'm trying to put things how I see fit because it's MY auction. What's wrong with that?

Re: New auctions to laugh at
Ibanez249: I can understand your frustration, but I wait to bid until the last minute very often. I take the chance of the item being pulled, but that's life.
I've also been in situtations where I'm waiting to get a check or something and cannot bid because I literally don't have the money.
I did this recently: I plain forgot to bid on something and the auction ended with no bidders. I emailed the seller and offered to use BUY IT NOW and add $5 for his trouble. Voila! Problem solved. You might email some of these prospective buyers and ask them if they're interested in doing that.

Re: New auctions to laugh at
Thanks Ekim, I have tried but then the people sort of get the "Well it didn't go for your reserve so I'll offer you X amount" mentality (insert really low price where the X is)
It actually happen with a PBK I sold not long ago. I had a reserve of £650 (I think that was the first time, I listed twice because the reserve wasn't met) on it. I was going to sell for around £600-£650 to a couple of guys from **** and jemsite depending on who was willing to pay and more to the point who wanted it, (no offense to the guys that were interested but they were a bit slow in making decision, due to things like cash flow problems, etc.)
So I bit the bullet because nobody was buying and relisted, but because of what happen previously with the waiting until the last minute and the fact that it cost me over £20 just to list the thing in the first place, (and it was going to cost the same again, totalling about £50 to list just one guitar!) I decided to put on the auction that I wasn't into waiting for the last minute and if you wanted it to e-mail me your offer and if I liked it, I'd take it (and if the seller needed feedback, to just bid to become the highest bidder and I'd end the auction)
The result? I sold it to a guy for more than the £650 that was my reserve and both he and I were well pleased with the deal. What can be better than that?
I have reasons for doing things the way how I do them and that's because they make sense, to me at least

Re: New auctions to laugh at
Well the other thing is that **** (at least they used to, haven't tried it lately) will let you re-list and refund your first auction's listing fees IF you lower the reserve or the BUY IT NOW price.
If someone tried low-balling me after the auction was over, I'd either take it or tell them to pound sand in their arse. I guess it would depend on their offer!

Not really anything, but why would someone replace V pickups with INFS?
