The relevence is that the seller of that fake jem was matts music, a jemsite sponsor, and Ibanez dealer.

Re: New auctions to laugh at

As far as I know, he ended up pulling the auction, I don't think it was a matter of defraud as much as a matter of he or an employee was fooled by the fake jem. The point I was going for is most dealers have many employees and not every one of them would be able to spot a fake Ibanez, so that guy could easily take his fake to the local store, and the salesman would say you were wrong and honostly not know that the guitar is fake. Then you look like a jerk to the guy selling the guitar and the seller still tries to sell it as a real Jem. I'm sure the average kid buying his first nice guitar wouldn;t even know that there were fake Jems being sold.

Tee hee here's another one.

7399803167

I messaged him with: Fake Jems just shouldn't be allowed.

He got back to me with: GROW UP MORON

So I replied with: Moron? Who's the one selling fakes? Not me, I only deal in the genuine article.

Re: New auctions to laugh at

I'm sorry, but I cannot see how a dealer would not be able to spot that, and in stores, certainly in england, not just any shop worker would be authorised to buy a guitar from someone. It would have to go through management who would spot it with just the eyes.

Moron, huh? Well he can't spell Floyd Rose for one thing. Second, since when is basswood similar to alder? It's closer to mahagony. Third, how can he badmouth the Chinese guy who "stole" his name and bag on him for selling "copies" of the Jem with the Ibanez logo when he is selling a cr@ppy surfboard himself with his dopey name on it as though it makes it more legit??
In fact the surfboard he's selling is probably made the same place.

I'll bet it plays like a dream too - with Freddy Kreuger in it.

Re: New auctions to laugh at

Be that as it may, I've dealt with Matt a few times in the past, and he's a fairly respectable guy - certianly not the sort I'd expect to try to knowingly defraud someone with a fake Jem.

Glen's posts seem to suggest that Matt was a little surprised to learn it was a fake, too.

I only posted the link as a rebuttle to "no dealer would be fooled at all". There's no way he was trying to defraud anybody, but being fooled by one of these abominations speaks volumes on it's own
