Re: New auctions to laugh at
It's not right, that's what's wrong with it.
I don't know about superior knowledge of Chinese guitars, but I've been with Ibanez for 14 years.

Re: New auctions to laugh at
Dunno what cars have to do with it, but the paint job doesn't look smooth and the monkey grip is not level, not really where it should be and not really routed properly. If it is an RG, it would have been better left as one, rather than an immitation Jem.

Re: New auctions to laugh at
Cars dont have anything to do with it and neither does you 'being with' Ibanez 14 yrs.
I was stating, that because i owned cars for all those years it didnt make me an expert with them!!!!!
As for the grip and paint work not really being where it should be and not really being routed correctly, maybe your not really looking at it properly. A purchased template/jig was used and it matches with every Jem i own.
Why should it be better left as a RG??? This is down to the individuals personal choice...........
Why did you fit Blue Evo's to a BFP or White Pickups to a Black RG????
They ARE NOT original but your personal preference

Re: New auctions to laugh at
I see, so it's your RG. I had wondered why you seemed to be taking this one to heart.
Being with Ibanez has alot to do with it, as we are talking about Ibanez and having been with them for so long, I know what a monkey grip should look like, and that grip clearly isn't done right. Even in a photograph, that one isn't exactly where it should be, and the jig is not allowed under patent law to give you the exact grip route that Ibanez have.
I fitted blue evos to a BFP as the BFP should have blue pickups (I didn't want
paf pros
in it anymore) and the white pickups on the RG isnt immitating something it isn't, I replaced the V7's and V8's as I wanted something better and had a choice of colours and didn't butcher it any further.
When I said it should have been left as an RG, an RG550, what I mean is that the 550's are superior and superb guitars in thier own right and shouldn't be, in my view, immitating something that it isn't.
Yes, quite right, it is down to personal preference, and personal opinion will always be a problem in forums, as one will always say something that another will completely disagree with and take personal offence to. It is hard, if not impossibe, to please everyone.
I'm not here to argue, as you certainly seem to be and have taken personal offence. I'm simply here using this thread in this forum for its intended purpose, to laugh at auctions, and this one certainly made me do just that.

Re: New auctions to laugh at
Nothing "to laugh about" in that auction really. The guitar's very nice, and I don't see anything wrong with it.

Re: New auctions to laugh at
Compared to many of these ****ty chinese fakes i've seen for the last few years, that R.G 'JEM' isn't too bad. Let's face it, at least it's and honest advertisement clearly stating it's not a proper jem unlike most ...

If you 'mock' someones elses belonging's they will surely take it personally. Whether it be one of the Chinese Sellers or WHY, they will stand their ground.
It just so happens that you probably wont get the chance to speak to a chinese seller, due to the majority of their items being fake (if they exist at all)

Exactly, your choice of colour, pickups and style. It doesnt matter if you are trying to imitate something, they are your guitars you do with them what you like. Likewise, others should be allowed to do what they like without the 'sneering'

What you actually said is 'If it is an RG..................'. Are you saying that this isnt a RG???????

I totally agree, hence this conversation!!!!

I am not arguing, i am replying to your posts.
You have posted in a 'New Auctions to laugh at' thread and posted an auction number.
What is it in the auction that you found so amusing you 'spat your tea out'????
With exception of the last line of the listing (which you seem to have taken personally......why?????) I and by the sound of it, others have been unable to find something so funny.
It is a RG that is made to look like a Jem (and it does look like a Jem otherwise i dont think you would have posted it in this thread) Therefore desired effect aquired. It has everything that is listed and will go to the highest bidder which at the moment stands with a Jemsite Brother.
It cant surely be that funny, can it????
If there is a Chinese seller out there that is selling the genuine article whether modded or not, i say leave him alone. Yet we all know that that isnt the case unlike this auction.
