Re: Paradise Guitars - OFFICIAL Thread

It's kind of funny...I kind of got away from production guitars over the past 4-5 or so years. With the exception of one of those new US production Charvels(I had to have it..reminded me of one I got rid of a few years back..and $999..please...couldn't be turned down) The past 3 guitars I've bought I've actually built from parts...2 Warmoth..and 1 total Mutt. I built my first one and I suddenly realized that it was everything that I wanted..without the production price tag of a custom shop "anything". I've probably owned 60 guitars in my lifetime so far and have around 20 right now. I'm not saying I'm some sort of "expert"...but I've been playing/collecting for almost 25 yrs and I've owned/coleected/sold and played...ALOT. I received my Paradise Guitars "Jason Becker" #10 approx a month ago and I've had some time to put it thru its paces with my Protone "Perpetual burn" and the rest of my pedalboard by now. It showed up right on time, set up was spot on and perfectly in tune. Listen, your either going to like the design or not. (headstock, pickups, design, simplicity..whatever, whatever) IF, you grew up in the 80's (and weren't in diapers) and were a fan of instrumental/or shred guitar playing you probably had pictures of Jason, like me, up on your walls. Which means this guitar will have more meaning for you than simply the aesthetics of it. Which I think are very cool, very honest...very straightforward. It's also your chance to own a small piece of guitar history and get a low serial# and cool standard/deluxe package as well. I remember lusting after that custom Peavey and blue Carvin he had...But Honestly though I never much cared for the Hurricane. The Paradise is the first production guitar I've picked up in a long time that's felt like home right off the bat. If it had been in a store I could have bought it without even plugging it in...It felt that good right off the bat. I, of course, bought it site unseen. (I mean lets face it, unless you live near Paradise..thats how most of us are going to buy it) The build quality is first rate..and this is coming from someone who has actually built a guitar. The guitar sounds great. I've never been a huge fan of the Tone Zone, though I will keep it in this guitar because I have plenty of others that do have exactly what I prefer and this IS the Jason Becker Signature Guitar(I am a fan of the Paf Pro tho)...but honestly, the pickups can be changed if you absolutely have to have something else (just keep the factory PU's for collectibility value) I'm assuming this will probably be a "collectors" guitar that will be played but in a relatively sterile environment and not a gigging guitar (that your going to spill beer on and bang around on a stage or do god knows what with but who knows. It's a guitar...its meant to be played and I have no doubt it will hold up. I absolutely love the tung oil finish. It really allows the entire guitar to breath...the resonance thru the entire guitar is amazing. I've never felt a guitar that felt so alive in my hands and that I could literally breathed with every note, harmonic, bend, slide ect, ect. It resonates better than most neck-thru's I have and/or tried I've always liked a satin finish on my own customs necks but the tung oil is completely different. I've never felt anything like it. Its like the guitar takes on a life of its own and I love the heel (or lack there of). It is extremely contoured and access to the upper frets is effortless. If you've got the "scratch" and want to own a piece of guitar history that feels/looks/ and sounds great go get yourself one. It's well worth the investment. If its any indication, I've already sent Stu and Tom a list of specs for a 2nd Paradise (just waiting on them to get back up with me..hint, hint, hint)...but a much more stripped down model...a good workhorse..that I don't have to be quite as careful with. A guitar that I can spill beer on and bang around. It's going to be my signature guitar....I'm going to call it the "I spent all my money on the Jason Becker Signature guitar" model. If you get a chance..try a Paradise guitar...you may just love it. If you can't get the guitar go get Jasons' ProTone "Perpetual burn" pedal...it smokes and well worth the try!!! 2 Channel distortion w/tons and I mean tons of 80's mojo. Its definitely got Jason's signature tones in there... plus go find your own sound...trust me, You're in there too...lots of knobs and lots of tweakability...plus a very cool graphic on top of all that. if your not interested in any of that or don't have the cash (we are in a recession..in case you haven't heard) go buy Jason's music...it may expose/open up new ideas that you haven't thought of...and If you can't do any of that...just go play what you have....The guitar is an amazing instrument...it can be your voice..when you can't/don't know what to say or express... and last but certainly not least...Practice, practice, practice...Go play your guitar.."Live to play..Play to live"...it can be anything you want it to be, if you let it..it can be a window to your soul...find your voice and Keep Shredding!!! P.S. Give a Paradise guitar a try if you get the chance...you might be sorry you waited so long

My #13 is still waiting to be delivered or built or something...It was originally supposed to be a 6 week wait from ordering and I'm now at over 12 weeks!! An email from December said early Jan. I got an email about 3 weeks ago saying it would just about be ready to be shipped next week...I know custom limited is a waiting game, but I tried Paradise, and am already sorry I waited so long!!!

Re: Paradise Guitars - OFFICIAL Thread

I of course can't tell you what the situation is with your guitar deadtunes666....I hope it shows up soon...I know the waiting can be tough...I'm still waiting on the "deluxe package" part of the deal...but I can tell you the guitar will be worth the wait...but honestly, I'm a good "waiter"...I waited over 13 months for a Custom Conklin Sidewinder "Melted Top" (Amazing guitar!!!) BUT I've also been waiting over 3 yrs for a Custom Leviathan guitar I ordered right before they closed up shop and stopped making guitars...mine is the last one...AND I've been assured it should be arriving this spring. SOOOO, I guess, based on that, I'm probably not a good yardstick to measure peoples ability to wait...hang in there dude..good things come to those with the patience to wait it out my man
