Re: Patrick SIMS (custom shop in TN, USA) experiences
good luck in trying to retrieve your item from this guy. you can check **** if you need parts. i puchased a 1994 Rg 550 edge pro with trem bushings, claw & springs for 180.00 cosmo/black. i just wanted the tremolo system and body...
speaking of ****.. has anyone else noticed several reproduced ibanez guitars, bodies, necks being sold on **** from the area Ooltewa, Nashiville? NEOSPORINEME is the seller.. could this be Mr. Sims? if so you might find an cancelled order on here.

Re: Patrick SIMS (custom shop in TN, USA) experiences
I contacted him thru e**y (he's had my body and $400 for 2 years) and he responded that i have him confused with someone else. So, Toneboy, i might be the first who never gets their stuff back.

Re: Patrick SIMS (custom shop in TN, USA) experiences
Man I feel bad when i hear musicians out of money and the lenght of time to get if anything back, bodies, necks hardware etc. 2 years is way too much time to get a guitar part done.
For those who have their monies taken by this
Patrick Sims
? If you can prove it? Then you need to contact the Attorney General of Tennesse. Half the time, if they see alot of customers with complaints they step in. Also contact the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. The business men that care about their companies want a "good" standing with the BBB. Many people use the BBB to find the standing of a particular company/business before they do business with that particular company.

People have been down that road with him. Last we saw, Sims had gotten a 'F' rating from the BBB.

Got my
SCS
from another member here, but I have to say I am thrilled to own this guitar. Kudos to Pat Sims design and craftsmanship. All I have to say.

Trust me, it would have been one hell of a bumpier ride if you bought it directly.

I'm glad you're happy with the guitar but the design is nothing unique and as far as craftsmanship goes, Patrick's early guitars with made with Ibanez RG necks that had the headstock grafted to get that shape. I received this information straight from Patrick himself. That doesn't make the neck bad in anyway. He just didn't make it.

Re: Patrick SIMS (custom shop in TN, USA) experiences
Chris Woods actually built the first few SCS guitars using Ibanez necks. I know Patrick is cutting most of his own stuff now, but I think Chris is still helping him out.
Not that there is anything wrong with that as Patrick is making a go at his own line of guitars, and is doing what he must to get off the ground.
Chris Woods and Patrick both can do great work when they set their mind to it. It is the time management and customer service that seems to be the downfall.

They should consider merging businesses and hiring someone to handle financials. Perhaps 2 negatives can become a positive then. They're both in Tennessee, right?
