Anyone have any recent thoughts on Perle guitars? Deciding whether or not to use them for a project.

I got one of his bodies off the bay the other year, and I am very very pleased with it. I love the colors and the swirl is great. Back when I got mine, he didn't do any clear coats so I can't speak to his clears. All the parts from the old RG470 seemed to fit on the Perle body fine. Hope that helps.

I would make sure you are a qualified luthier , because i am not. the neck fit into body way crooked and tight , i got 2 bodies and both were way different , one had deeper neck and pickup cavity than others and factory ibanez plates dont fit for crapp.

Well, if I get and body and neck from the same luthier, I would hope they check everything fits.

Have you told him this? I am sure he would fix the problem. I have seen his CNC setup, and everything seems to fit perfectly. How long ago was this?

Yes the early posts seem strange. His feedback on evilbay is 100% with some great comments. i was thinking of ordering a body.

I got my order in and can't wait for the end result. I have the utmost faith in Nate. Gonna be a looooong 8 week wait (barring problems).

Anyone else have recent experience with this guy? Seems like all the US aftermarket parts sellers are just unreliable lying theives.

He is not an unreliable lying thief. My custom neck is getting the headstock swirled and my custom body is in the final clearing stages. I should have them both this month and he started working at the start of March. I've had plenty of photo updates and he always returns e-mails. When I have guitars assembled, I'll post many pics. He's very trustworthy, IMO.

Yeah that still gives me pause though, since others have had the same experience but then communication mysteriously stops and they never get their order. Please post back when you actually receive it.

Would be nice if there were an aftermarket parts maker who was reliable and honest, but every one I check, I see the same stories about stolen money, stolen parts, and dodging communication. Thats also my personal experience with Legacy One/ Chris Taggart / Deepsix, or whatever other aliases that jerk goes by.

I was wary as well but Nate asked for only 25% up front so I went with him. When I was going for a JEM body, he swirled over 10 bodies until I got one I liked...then I changed the body. :P The neck looks great with the custom color pyramid inlays to match the body swirl. I'm even going to buy 2 other bodies he already had swirled since my friend sent me a bunch of guitar parts and there's 2 perfect Prestige necks and full hardware for 3 guitars.

He's been open to ideas, patient when I started changing things and answered e-mails within a decent amount of time. I can't say enough how great it's been to deal with him. He also promises if there's a problem with anything, he'll fix it. I've only ever seen the one complaint about him in the start of this thread and no idea if it got resolved but enough people vouched how good he is work wise and business wise.

Same way: Advanced payment, some pics about "work in progress" (the same pictures i've see in this post) with your stupid sport shoes
... and after some weeks no answer on my emails ...
A true thief !!!

Have you tried e-mailing him through his site? I've exchanged over 50 e-mails with him since February concerning my custom body and neck. He's proven to not be a "stupid, dirty thief" to me.

Besides, facebook and myspace suck.
