possible **** warning, instrument exchange
I realize that there has been an "Instrument exchange" post in the auctions to laugh at section, but this concerned me enough to warrant another post.
I emailed the instrument exchange regarding auction # 2534529867
I simply inquired as to why the picture of a 77FP with a description (inaccurate as well) of a VWH. Simply letting him know that a buyer may be rather upset when receiving a guitar they don't realize they are bidding on. The photo says it is a stock photo and guitar may not represent actual condition, however, to me this still states it should be an FP. The auction is confusing, and misrepresentative, I also let him know of the current selling price of a new VWH being in the $1600 to $1700 price range, and that $2200 was a bit optimistic (ok, actually I said ridiculous)
This was their response.

what appears to be a deception or a poor imo is an incorrectly jumpeed to conclusion and deserves a rebuttal.
try some people skills and don't assume that things are done to dupe people.
we are of the highest caliber of integrity and were perhaps duped.
if you are aS INTELLIGENT AS A BOWLING BALL YOU WOULD CLEARLY SEE THAT THE PHOTO IS STOCK.
go bother someone else with your pseudo-know it all mentality,i remain however unimpressed.
As someone who needs to accurately represent my services, I find their response, their **** auction, and their attitude far less than professional. I would be wary of dealing with this seller at all.
Just my $.02

I did respond to their reply as well.

since you were so kind to call me as intelligent as a bowling ball, let me say,
even a ****ing bowling ball could put up PROPER pictures of an auction and have
the correct information. I don't care if you are joe blow on the street or
guitar center, if you can't put up an accurate auction it makes you look like a
scammer. Except even scammers can make it look legit!
I don't recall being RUDE in my email, but your insult, as well as complete
disregard for running a good auction tell me that you are indeed not worth
anymore of my time.
For your information, a JEM7VWH is
ALDER body
EBONY fretboard
24 frets
your info isn't correct for either model!
good luck with your **** ventures.

For exemple:
Number of frets: 25 or more
Country of origin: U.S.A.
Well, this guy is clearly not knowing what he's talkin' 'bout... and it's not us having a "pseudo-know it all mentality".

Guys, for the umpteenth time, go to
www.instrumentexchange.com
They are an auction site just like ****. They partnered up with **** for greater exposure. Go to the site and read all about it.
When you ask the seller a question, you are asking an individual owner. Each item has a different owner. The best thing about Instrument Exchange is that they hold your money, and don't give it to the seller until you give them word to. You get 48 hours to inspect your instrument. If you don't like it, for ANY reason, you can send it back and get your money returned minus shipping. Sounds like a good deal to me. You can also haggle for a lower price if you'd like after receiving it.

aqquake, I realize that, but whether partnered up with ****, or whatever, it is still a seller who has not even represented his item properly, and if the picture problem is indeed instrument exchanges problem it is something people need to be aware of when viewing the auction so you are not seeing a picture of something you are not expecting.

I agree totally with that. I mis-understood it as people thinking that it was one person behind the instrument exchange handle, and I was trying to help clarify.

Not to harp on an old subject, but this is just a bad idea plain & simple. Every time I see something that may be interesting and go to view the item and it's them, I cringe and don;t even bother.
Now you've got three separate entities involved, is that it? The seller, this Instrument Exchange, and E-Bay? Yikes!
Hey, if you want to sell something on E-Bay, get registered & sell it. From what I've seen it's been poor pictures, poor descriptions (some just plain ridiculous) and most of it is way overpriced.
The 48 hour thing may seem nice until you're spending half of your life shipping (twice at your cost) crap back & forth. And how good could the service from them be if all they do when a totally inacurate description is brought to their attention, is b*tch about you telling them that it's wrong.
E-Barf has enough horror stories without an unknowledgable third party "service" (used loosley) making life more interesting.
No thanks.

IE pisses me off to no end. I was on their site just before they started their partnership with eBlecch and there was a RG2020X listed for a BIN of $350. However, the photo showed a 520QS. I made an inquiry about it and never got a response.

they seem to be getting worse and worse lately too. The worst part is, the actual sellers, because they are going through Instrument exchange, seem to think that means they are more hidden, and are just being total *******s about everything, every one I've inquired about has returned me a snotty arrogant response. what a total joke. I can't imagine wanting to sell through that either, you read the feedback rating and it sucks, each person is responsible for that rating, not just one, so you never really know who you're dealing with.

Most of them probably butchered their evilbay accounts so bad with negative feedback, this is the only method they have.

Hmm... Multiple personality disorder much?
The guy starts out polite and considerate (we could be at fault, we're working on it) then gets a little more defensive, then calls you a bowling ball. Define "mood swing."
Not only should you not deal with this guy, you shouldn't live within 50 miles of him.

yeah, hostile sellers & scams are everywhere. My bud picked up a schweeet 5-
string bass
off of instrument exchange - no problems; he was dealing with someone cool though - FYI.
as always, buyer beware...
