Question regarding classified ads

I was just wondering how much time is required for an item to stay in the classifieds until you can safely post it somewhere else, like **** or something. And what are the procedures/rules etc,..

If you put up an ad in the classifieds section, it's basically open until you close it (to close it, just put in the thread, "please close this up, mods, selling it elsewhere" or whatever). It's against the rules here to simultaneously have an active classified ad and the same item on an online auction, so just make sure you close the ad here before you throw the item on the 'bay.

Rules state (apart from Demiurge's note above regarding closure) that all classified ads must clearly state an asking price (no "make offer" ads), and that your location must be displayed in your profile. Exceptions to the price rule are ads that are marked "for trade".
