Scammer at work--RG20064
Careful guys, I got a pm out of the blue from a new member looking to sell me an Ibanez RG20064 even though I hadn't posted that I was looking for one. He sent me pics of a legit 20064 as well.
User name is roberth309 and he said he was from Spain. Name that he is using is Roberto Herrero Diaz. He was looking 900 Euros for the guitar and asked for my shipping address. I checked his Jemsite profile and traced his join IP to Nigeria.
I also Googled his email address and came up with this:
http://www.hamradio.co.uk/lynchline/...ead.php?t=6979
Definitely a scammer.

BTW I pm'd the 4 other users who I noticed had looked at this guys profile. I'm sure they probably twigged it as well but just wanted to be on the safe side.

He's gone guys, thanks for the heads up. Remember though, you can bring this straight to the Mods as well as posting threads about the guy.
You know, do both at once, 2 birds one pint, etc.

Thanks DG. Yeah he's a bit peeved off now. Thing is he was offering gear to guys on here by visiting the Classifieds and in particular WTB ads. Couple of guys pm'd me back to say he'd offered them gear and not just the 20064 he'd offered me. I just didn't want to see anyone get stung. I think most of us are savvy enough on these things but you never know, it happens.

Re: Scammer at work--RG20064
He actually put in "Address, Spain"?
Anyway, as has been mentioned before, this guy was not in Spain, but in
Lagos, Nigeria
.
Still, might not be a bad idea to
teake off the scanders
anyway

Yep, Address: Spain, LOL!! I actually got the exact same pm as Swirled777, word for word except mine was RE RG20064. I was sent the message because I pm'd (I posted 'PM Sent') AusTexCap on his WTB RG20064 thread in the classifieds.

Re: Scammer at work--RG20064
Only thing I can figure out is he was surfing the FS section of this site. It didn't hit me right away why he was asking if I was interested in a variety of 7 Strings. But then thought of the RG7620 I recently had in the FS section. But I was selling a guitar, HAHA have no clue how this guy figured I was interested in buying one.
