"siamese_axes" seller on auction?

Hey there,

I'm just about to buy a guitar from this guy but I'm a bit worried after a few things that occured recently...

Firstly, I made an offer on a PGM500 of his for $700 and he e-mail and said he couldn't go that low. Eventually, we agreed on $935 shipped to the UK, yet he kept the invoice at $700 and added $235 on the shipping. Now, I'm worried that if something were to go wrong that I'd only get $700 back (if anything.)

Secondly when he sent me the invoice it said "Please pay asap to liquid_nitrite@hotmail.com , because aspailin@yahoo.com cant take credit card payment. Sorry." Liquid Nitrite... from Thailand... could it be the same guy on this thread here? http://www.jemsite.com/forums/showth...hlight=nitrate Now johliatay seems to be happy with the guitar, but what about these other guys that say he's a crook? He has 100% positive feedback too which confuses matters. There again, I don't think I would be able to get my money back from PayPal if I sent the money to another address would I?

Thirdly, he wants to ship the guitar without the neck bolted, WTF?

Please help me out on this because I'm seriously thinking of forgetting it even though I won the auction. I really don't want to give the guy over £500 for it to show up as a piece of junk (if it shows up at all.)

Any info on the guy?

Dave - my advice for what it's worth. If you're unsure, don't go ahead with it. Gut instincts are usually right. Paying money to Thailand for a guitar in the US seems VERY wrong to me.

Re: siamese_axes on ****

Yeah tell me about it. I was okay about it until he told me to send the money to another account because at least if it was with the account linked to **** I could get my money back. I shouldn't of sold mine the other week because I regretted it the moment it left with Parcelforce. I think mine was in better condition too.

Anyway, I told him to relist it and he was fine with it (I think.) Sending a guitar unbolted sounds crazy anyway! Also, the fact that in the auction he said that he wouldn't accept responsibility for anything that happened to the guitar in transit was supremely fishy (I actually try to get him to give me his word that he WOULD accept resposibility, which he begrudgingly did) I think the nail in the coffin was the thread above though.

Ah well, I'll just pick up a 90th when a decent one pops up

So has anyone else dealt with this guy? This is why the wall of shame should be put to better use.

No. Any address other than the evilbay one isn't insured. And PayPal don't really insure you anyway, they'll only get you your money IF they can withdraw it from the other person's account. Obviously any scammers would have withdrawn it already. PayPal's $hit. We got scammed for £165 on a bike. PayPal just shrugged their shoulders and said "not our problem". Evilbay refunded us £105, but that's all we ever got. We're dealing with the police now. Dealing with Thai police would be impossible.

I pulled out of a deal for a 7621 for the same reason; different address. Forget this one NOW. Don't gamble $1000 trusting some bloke from Thailand...? Or the US? Actually, we don't seem to know where he's from. You have a very legitimate reason for pulling out.

Re: siamese_axes on ****

That's what I thought. I was just thinking that other people had dealt with him and he seemed ok, but then I read that thread and he told me I needed to send the cash to another address it was like "Ok, let's forget this deal."

I'd of been an idiot to do the deal. I mean, I'm paranoid about shipping anyway so dealing with some guy in this situation would've just been been plain stupidity.

I didn't think **** and paypal would've been that kind either, but I read some other guy got paid off by them recently. Clutching at straws I be, arrr...

Re: siamese_axes on ****

the liquid nitrate guy emailed me when i had my 550 for sale last year....wanted it shipped in pieces to cut down on shipping costs.

he's definitely got something going on...whether or not it's dodgy, i don't know.

Re: siamese_axes on ****

I have shipped guitars with the necks off as well and to be honest its alot safer and its also a lot easier than the bulky box.

Now THats because none of the guitars I have shipped went out with cases. If it had a case thats a different story.

Re: siamese_axes on ****

It appears that the hotmail account is linked to PayPal "Premier" account (can accept credit cards), while the yahoo one is a "Personal" account (bank transfers only).

PayPal policy specifically prohibits maintaining multiple PayPal accounts in which one is to be used for bank transfer payments, and the other one for credit card payments. I know this because that is exactly what I used to do until I was called on it -- bank transfers were to be made to the no charge" Personal account, while credit card payments went to the other (Premier) one (which always charged a % fee regardless of which payment method was used).

So by switching accounts, he's officially violating PayPal policies. Although I think that policy is a bunch of crap, you could still use that point as justification for your refusal to pay to the other account. Also, if you were to proceed with a cc payment to the orignal (yahoo) account, PayPal would send him a pleasant message telling him that he needed to upgrade to a Premier account in order to accept the pending payment. Once he agreed, payment would proceed, but from then on he'd have to pay the PayPal % fees on that account.

Can you believe it? The cheeky bastard as put an unpaid item strike against my name even though we amicabely (sp?) decided not to go through with the sale!

I've got all the proof for 3bay to remove the damn thing but it sure is annoying! It goes to show you just can't trust most people online. I think that's the last time I attempt to deal with someone not in Japan, Europe or the US, and before someone calls me racist, I'm not, just like I'm not stupid either

Bottom line, Siamese_axes is a scumbag, do not trust the guy.

That does indeed sound very weird.

Dealing with that moron liquid nitrate is bad news pal!!! I bought a guitar from him once and it was a fiasco, no to mention it took forever to be delivered to my home, after that experience I said never again to sellers that weren't from the US or Japan.

Yeah, 3bay took the strike off, but what a prick the guy is for going behind my back like that. He obviously thought he could get away with it as some kind of retaliation for me not following through with the sale.

I have watched a few of his auctions and considered a few of them. Glad I now know he's bad news...

Re: siamese_axes on ****

Greetings all,
I successfully purchased a mint condition PGM90th from siamese axes on evilbay, I have never met a more friendly seller, my guitar was shipped superfast and was in superb condition on arrival.

I have been contacted several times by evilbayers asking if this guy is genuine including one guy who bought a Jem90th and was worried because it was being shipped from Thailand, i reassured him that it would be a safe purchase and he mailed me when it arrived and he was very pleased he went ahead with the deal.

Just beacause the guy is from the far east and his english isn't perfect doesn't mean he is a con artist, we are all aware of the Indonesian, Malaysian & Chinese 'buy it now' Jem for ten dollars scams and i can assure you this seller is genuine.

To the guy who backed out on the deal - you've missed a great guitar for the money, and next time i've got the money i will definitely buy again from this seller.

This seller can be trusted - buy with confidence

Scott.
A satisfied owner of a PGM90th courtesy of siamese_axes.
