Just wanted to let everybody know I have updated our site with some new pictures and I added a "Woods" section on the Sims Custom Shop Guitars page to show what we have available on our Exotic Series guitars. We have a few more tops we haven't had a chance to put on there yet and we also have a few on the way.

hello patrick, read through this thread and saw some of the wood you plan on using for future projects. i'm on a waiting list for a guitar body and neck and still have some time to decide what i want built. you painted a warrrior bass with buckeye burl (blue or gray with some natural figure 7 peice top maple/purpleheart), its still pictured on your site. i wish to emulate this guitar with a jem as much as possiable. my problem is i dont know if i can trust a builder to choose nice peices of wood for my project. my questions are do you shop for peices for customers? is there anywhere i can look online that may not come up in regular searches for exotic woods for buckeye burl?

I buy my woods from all over the placer. No "One" person has it all, you have to shop around. I would recommend checking with your local wood suppliers, and do a search on the internet or even **** for exotic wood suppliers and you'll find what your looking for.

can a swirl be done with chrome paint?

Maybe as a background color.....like paint it chrome with a black swirl over it, but that would probably be the only color that would be opaque enough to work.

Just wanted to let everybody know progress is being made and guitars are going out this week and next week before my surgery. I shipped Panacea151's UV JEM out this evening, DHL tracking # 41085606645 and also 6stringer's 570 GMC swirl and parts out this evening, DHL tracking # 41085606446 & 63412885841

Please do not post and ask why urs hasn't shipped, or when it will be shipped. I have made very clear in the "heads up" thread whose will be shipped before my Surgery on March 19th, if your name is one of those then that is the only update you will receive, I do not know exact days of shipments for anybody, b/c I'm kinda going on a day by day basis right now and juggling alot of things like no vehicle, lawyer visits (Had one on Monday and have another one tomorrow) Dr Visits, as well as trying to get as much work done as I can before the 19th. If I cannot get your guitar done before the 19th you have already been contacted.

I will be continuing to post updates on shipments between now and the surgery so people will know that work is being done, progress is being made, and guitars are being shipped, and I'm not just sitting around posting on jemsite.

Also the 1st 3 Sims Custom Shop Double Cutaway guitars have now come off the CNC mahine and the necks have been glued in, they are now ready for paint, I will try to post some pics if I have time this week. I will not be working on these and finishing them up until after I've recovered, which will HOPEFULLY be around a month after March 19th. Right now my #1 priority is keeping faith in God #2 priority is staying strong, healthy, and mentally ready for my surgery, #3 getting what work I currently have done and shipped
