Re: Sims Custom Shop "Starry Nite" Swirl
I really like the swirl!
Did you plan on it being a different than other swirls you've done or did you just get lost (so to speak) in the moment of swirl?

Yea I meant to do it different than the others, I wanted to do something totally unique.

Actually I like it, and thats all that matters to me. And there are others on here who have said they like the
body shape
as well........guess its just a matter of opinion.

Re: Sims Custom Shop "Starry Nite" Swirl
Gorgeous swirl. You've been putting out some really nice stuff lately. I'm not too keen on the body, but if you like it that's all that matters.
When you swirl the headstock, is the whole headstock (front and back) swirled or is it just the front?
Please post pics of the starry nite swirled headstock when you can.

Well done. I like that it really does look like Van Gogh's brush stroke style. Spot on calling it Starry Night. Keep it up!

Re: Sims Custom Shop "Starry Nite" Swirl
Thanks for the info about the company name SCS!
I really like the complexity of the colours in your swirls. They're nice and bright too which a lot of the 'would-be' swirlers are missing.
I was just wondering if you'll be putting a thick clear-coat on the swirls to get a nice glossy/smooth end product ?
I think that would really add to the overall effect.
Thanks again!

Re: Sims Custom Shop "Starry Nite" Swirl
Nice swirl......
Isn't there something you can add to the water to help eliminate the water spotting? This one doesn't seem to have many water spots or they blend well with the color selection. The red one you posted was loaded with water spots though. Seems like something would get water to "cascade" off. You hit it regarding the Van Gogh! Never was keen on the "Reb" model.... so not keen on the body here either. But kudu's for trying something different.

Don't worry, the
clear coat
will be flawless.

Re: Sims Custom Shop "Starry Nite" Swirl
Its virtually impossible to eliminate water spotting when your submerging a guitar in water. Actually you don't want the water to cascade off, you actually want them to stay where their at and not move......if the water runs down then it makes a a trail through the paint and swirl, and that looks horrendous. Some of course have less than others, but so did the factory Ibanez ones. Some of them looked great with very little water spotting, and some had bad water spotting and even some runs...... It can be controlled to a certain degree, but its just kinda something you have to learn to live with on swirls.
I gotta another one done last night, this time on a JEM body with a
monkey grip
and lions claw.....black, neon green and pink, and once again the swirl looks awesome. I'll be posting some pics of it later, so stay tuned!!
