Yes its just as reflective.....you can see some examples of the Chrome paint we use under the "News" section of our website.

I think the guy we painted it for has the pilot picture and put it on after we sent it back to him.

Re: Sims Custom Shop (Chattanooga, USA) MASTER TOPIC

Well obviously probably not since he put it on after we painted it for him.....which I really don't understand why he didn't send the pic to us so we could out it under the clear....maybe he wasn't sure if he's like it or not so he decided to put it on teh top of the clear so he could remove it if he wanted? I personally like it much better tho with the pilot pic.

Personally, I prefer it without the picture, especially with the red white and blue colourscheme.

Re: Sims Custom Shop (Chattanooga, USA) MASTER TOPIC

Thanks much. So what do you guys think should I go classic with the hardware in terms of color (maybe creme or creme zebra), or do I go contrasting with brighter colored pickups and hardware?

Re: Sims Custom Shop (Chattanooga, USA) MASTER TOPIC

It all depends on what type of feel you want to express. Black hardware and Pickups wil project a simple look and might downgrade the expensive fantastic look of this guitar. If you wont it to look like a million bucks then gold hardware and gold covers for the pickups (like gibson) will do the trick. If you want it to look crazy then neon colored pickups will do the trick, maybe dna color scheme pickups (green, black, red).
It's all depends on what impression you want your guitar to project. after all you can learn something on a guitar player by looking at the guitar he is playing.

Re: Sims Custom Shop (Chattanooga, USA) MASTER TOPIC

I would put black hardware on it, i.e tuners, trem, knobs, & pickup rings, and I would put creme and black zebra dimarzio's in it. I think the creme and black would compliment the wood on the guitar well, especially the creme stripe behind the tremelo cavity. Then when I got a neck I would have Chris cut me out a Rainbow Poplar overlay for the headstock, put it on, put on a black Ibanez JEM headstock decal then bury it all under the clear. That would look killer, but very classy at the same time, and very expensive looking. Tasteful & subtile can sometimes look better than something thats very standoutish & loud in color (Like colored pickups) I don't think gold would look good on this guitar AT ALL.

Sounds good, Im thinking semi-classic is the way to go. Maple fingerboard with vine sound like too much bling bling or no?

Re: Sims Custom Shop (Chattanooga, USA) MASTER TOPIC

I think that would be perfect.....maple board, with a Pearl vine.....or if you want to spend a bit more I think it would look even better if it was a Pearl Stem with Abalone leaves......but both would look awesome on this guitar, I don't think that would be too much at all.
