Re: Somebody stole my guitar!! Please help me find it

I agree with both of the last postings...I think that I am going to need some 'luck' with this one!

Hands up all forum users that would be pleased that someone had the cheek to actually post your home address on a public forum?!

"3 sides".....DHL, the Bay of E, and my credit card company have all sided with me when presented with the evidence.

Like I say: feel free to request a copy of all of the communications!!!

Re: Somebody stole my guitar!! Please help me find it

Good luck sorting this mess out..... but it would seem that unless SCS can actually prove who signed for the body he's "skating" on thin ice and into a possible slander suit..... just a thought! SCS could be right, but it's all speculation until someone gets caught with the goods or the DHL delivery person can identify who signed for the package. SCS should have posted the picture without all the accusations and let the "wheels of justice" turn..... maybe the body would have shown up. Either way someone stole the body and it's surely not going to turn up now!

Re: Somebody stole my guitar!! Please help me find it

So who lives at the address that the body was shipped to? If it wasnt signed by Steve and the place the body was shipped to is known or owned by steve or an associate then who signed for it? Its a pretty scummy person who would use someone elses info to steal a guitar body. I sure hope that Steve or SIms or whoever the thief is in this situation gets busted and prosecuted because there are too many scums using **** and paypal now.

This should be simple police work here. Find out where the DHL guy delivered the body>See who owns it/lives there>is there a connection to Steve?>if yes show DHL driver a pic of Steve>If DHL driver says Steve signed the paperwork then throw the thief in jail. If there is no connection to Steve then find out who owns the house the body was delivered to>Show DHL driver more pics>when the person who signed the paperwork is found throw the thief in jail.

I should have been a detective ROFLOL. Anyway, whoever is the real thief here is a complete scumbag. Sims just call the proper athorities and let them deal with it. Jemsite is a guitar forum not a court.

Thank you Glen...much appreciated!

I have sent you further info on this whole scenario via e-mail because......

I have not (and never will!) used this forum to post any material that could be considered 'private' concerning any other forum user....I'd apprecite it if the same courtesy was extended to me!

Cheers!

Steve.

Re: Somebody stole my guitar!! Please help me find it

Is it possible one of the DHL guys is a bit light fingered.
Last year Birthday I recieved 4 cards from my family that had been previously opened by somebody at the Royal Mail. I guess they were checking for cash. A friend of mine had an incident where a bent postie pinched his new credit card, signed it and did a £350 shopping spree at Asda/Walmart.

Good point. A postie in our area got nicked for taking birthday cards a few years back, so it definitely isnt unheard of.

Was it sent insured? if so, maybe you can get your money back that way? I find it crazy that the shipping service wouldn't look further into it without making an educated decision (rather than just brushing it off.)

Ben

Thats always a possibility i wouldnt rule out. You can never be sure even if things do seem fishy. On top of that having worked in the warehousing shipment industry with many light fingered guys i can say first hand watch out for those around you!

When? I originally paid for it on the Bay of E from Mr.Sims back on the 6th of Feb 2006. Do you think that you've seen it since then? If so let Mr.Sims know at once so that he'll leave me the heck alone!!!!!

Re: Somebody stole my guitar!! Please help me find it

Time to close.

IMHO this was mishandled in several ways, starting with delays and not shipping the product in sufficient time given the nature of credit card chargebacks and disputes. That left the door wide for problems to occur.

If you SHIP items and a signature is NOT collected when specified, the CARRIER is responsible for the lost item.

Even if a potential customer was dishonest (or had a dishonest neighbor) and took a package left at the door unsigned (ie. no proof of delivery) if you specified the CARRIER to get a SIGNATURE then again it is the carrier's responsibility here.

Hopefully you guys will resolve this privately... glen

Re: Somebody stole my guitar!! Please help me find it

Let me add a final note from SCS/Patrick because IMHO the possibility of buyer fraud absolutely exists. DHL receipts DO INDICATE the product arrived and was signed for at the buyers verified paypal address (sloppily and not using a real name unfortunately)... glen

---

I wish I could have responded to his posts before it was closed, b/c basically now he has convinced everybody that either A) I'm lying, or B) the DHL driver stole it......which is not true, I shipped it, he knew when it was going to be there, it was sent to his address, it was delivered to his address, it was signed for at his address.....what else can I do?? But yet I'm the one who loses in the long run. DHL WOULD NOT refund me the for what it was insured b/c in their eyes it was delivered to the destination address just as it was suppose to be, and they did an Investigation on it as well, on the driver, everything, and nothing. - Patrick
