Stolen: JEM7VWH in Bulgaria (serial F0015167)
I traded an amp for ebony fretboard a white JEM and it was sent to me from Bulgaria. However the package was replaceat some point and what I received was a book of books of same weight. I donīt know if replacement happened in the post office or where but if you see my JEM on the market somewhere I hope you will let me know. Thanks!

Either the box of books was sent to you by the con who you think you were getting a JEM from, or, if there was a label swap then you have a claim against the shipper. You will need to talk to the one you got it from to make sure it was insured, and if it wasn't, why not!

Re: Stolen: JEM7VWH in Bulgaria (serial F0015167)
If the guy was a con, then it's your amp that has been stolen. Could be that serial belongs to someone legitimately and they guy just stole pictures. You'll soon know it's a con if you can't get in touch with him again, in which case make a report the police for the -amp-, not the guitar. If he does get back in contact with you, then there is a chance it was someone at the shipping company, but it isn't 100%, so keep asking questions.
And Stealthtastic- file a dispute with paypal? Wtf for? It was a trade.

Thanks for all the advice. It's really hard to point out where the guitar got stolen or was it sent at the first place. I have sold, bought and traded tens of guitars during the years and now this happened to me too. The first and hopefully the last time.

Re: Stolen: JEM7VWH in Bulgaria (serial F0015167)
Please, take a picture of the books. Are they written in Bulgarian or some other language? From which city is the guy you are dealing with, Sofia, Varna, Burgas, Ruse, other Bulgarian city. What does he said about that? Is he cooperative? Is there some description in the shipping manifest, what was inside of the package? I presume that the "guitar" was not insured and I tell you why. There is no cargo company/post office or courier in Bulgaria which will insure second hand instrument without invoice, cash receipt or value from certified assessor, because there is no other way to prove how much the instrument cost. There is no option to insure the instrument in whatever value you want in the shipping order (at least no here in Bulgaria). I speak from experience. Did you ever receive a tracking number? What was your agreement with the Bulgarian guy at the first place? Did you ever check the pictures in google to see if they are legitimate? Without information I can't do much. In Bulgaria we have one big musicians forum (like here jemsite) and we are strong community I can post your problem there and if I have more info like name and city there is a chance to locate the guy, Bulgaria is not so big. But you have to provide some evidence of your story, I won't post warning Thread without some solid facts. Do you have amp's cash receive or invoice, because if you don't have them it will be impossible to prove to the authorities that the amp was stolen :-(
