UK e-bayers please read
Basically, I've found a guitar that used to belong to me on the evil auction site and I'd like to buy it back because I regretted selling it in the first place.
Simple yes? no...
A day before it was due to finish ANOTHER auction cropped up with the same guitar pics and same description. Now this time the e-bayer had better feedback, but I've learnt that feedback doesn't really mean squat anymore... so who do I trust? both auctions look legit. Check out the numbers, 330073304017 (original one I was going to bid on) and then 110078042829.
It REALLY pisses me off because I was so excited to see it on there and now I can't get it back because of the scamming pricks in the world. The only reason I sold it was because I needed cash at the time. I sold it in the classifieds here to dannypuk, so it wasn't like I could keep track of the e-bay user ID.
If you are the seller of the guitar PLEASE get in touch so I know it's you. I've sent a message to the ID of both sellers asking about the guitar and (suprise, suprise) I've come up empty-handed.
Anyone with info/advice it'd be appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks for letting us know. I've emailed *bay with the 2 item numbers and asked them to look into it.

Cheers, same here. It's so damn frustrating because I just want THAT specific guitar back
People will be like "You've got a room full of PGMs and Jems there, what do you want with an RG450?" lol. It just felt great in my hands for some reason.

Re: UK e-bayers please read
Not at all, if the RG450 felt good to your hands, more power to you.
Funny you posted this actually, because I have been "watching" 330073304017 since yesterday. I regularly flick through the Ibanez listings and just click "watch" on anything half-decent that takes my fancy.
But I never noticed the double-auction thing. Definitely a steer-clear one until you find out more.
Let us know if you get a response from e-bay, Chimp.

Re: UK e-bayers please read
Hi
The first one could be genuine since obviously it was the first auction for this guitar. The second is probably a scam not necessarily by the seller but by someone hijacking their account!!
What does look a little strange is that both want paying by bank transfer!! This only usually happens with high value items.
Hope this is helpful. To conclude I would only buy this guitar if I could make contact with the seller and if it was cash on collection.
Cheers
Mike

Amen to that. Sometimes the one you get is just magic, and there's no denying it. It could be any make or model, we've all played or owned one of those

Re: UK e-bayers please read
Well here's the score so far...
The FIRST auction has been removed and the seller kicked off of ****. So the twist there is that if that auction was first, how was it copying the other auction? The obvious answer would be that the seller had listed the guitar before, but when I look at the completed listings, nothing comes up.
If it HAD of been a previous auction (weeks prior) isn't it too much of a coincedence for these 2 to be listed at the same time?
It's like I'm being teased by the scamming sods

Re: UK e-bayers please read
ask the seller for some fresh pics with todays newspaper in the photo. it may prove he actually has the guitar in his possession - photoshop permitting

Re: UK e-bayers please read
I've asked him for the name of the guy he bought it off yesterday and he still hasn't got back to me.
Unless he comes up with some proof I guess I'm going to have to let it slip

Re: UK e-bayers please read
249 I think that you are doing the right thing. Maybe this sale is OK, but there something a little odd to me about this.
"Bank transfer is the only acceptable way of payment" is perhaps a little unusual. And the shipping price, is that normal for a guitar?
I don't really know, but I'd want to collect in person & pay cash. If I'm in doubt, I generally ask if I can collect in person (even if I have no intention of doing so). It seems to scare off dodgy dealers. Years ago I bought a Hiscox case off a guy, asked if I could collect & he refused. Like an idiot I sent the money & (no surprise) no case was seen. He blamed the Post Office... Who knows, just be careful!

Re: UK e-bayers please read
The only way I would go anywhere near it is collection in-person. That way you know whats going on. But otherwise, I think you might have to let this one go. Even though it must be very difficult.
I would do/pay
anything
to get my original RG550 back. But I haven't seen it around since. Hopefully I will one day though.
