i was thinking about buying a UV7BK from rich but he has it listed at 1150 and the jemsite says they usualy go for about "700-$950 is a reasonable price that several have recently sold for " does that seem a bit cheap, but the guitar isnt in great overall cond. what you guys think i should do?

Re: UV7V
You can probably surf hard and find these models cheaper somewhere else.......But every guitar I ship has been meticulously inspected, has received the most comprehensive setup, rebuild, and enhancements imaginable, and has been tested to ensure that you receive a smooth playing and problem free instrument.
Quote from the front page of Rich's site. Its the service that is the difference between a $900 UV and a $1200 UV.
I don't know how old that pricing list is, but it looks as though it may be several years old, and the internet [especially the bay] has completely changed the market for these and many other instruments.
LOL - I just looked at some of the old **** listings - 6 years ago you could buy a Jem 10 or PMC $1900-2500 and GMCs sub $1500!!! Good luck finding one with that price now!

Re: UV7V
if you don't want his uber setup, then he usually knocks off like $100-$150 and ships it to you as-is.

Re: UV7V
People seem to love the Rich setup, and you also need to consider that he needs to sell the guitar at a profit. Atleast the extra money let's you make sure you aren't getting someone else's problem.

Re: UV7V
It's not worth the aggravation to play a guitar that isn't properly setup and sorted. You
can't
really play a guitar that's out of whack, you can only get an idea of what it might be like. Don't underestimate the value of a setup when getting your guitar; new guitars almost never come with setups, and NO ONE ever sets one up just to toss it in the 'Bay. Assume anything coming from there will need new strings and a complete and thorough going over.
And, as mentioned, the Jemsite pricing guide is a bit out of date.

If you've got the finance for it, i would def. would go for a guitar via Rich. I've heard nothing but good stories about him and the guitars he sells
