Re: UVMC color question

LMAO, ok, maybe just your opinion then

What do you think, this is 2 in a row, a week apart, with the same oddities, from the same part of the world. Is there any reason for them to have the orange in them? I have pics of the other one too...

Re: UVMC color question

No, they were two very different ones, I was watching the other one closely, have pics on my computer of both of them. This one is definitely different.

Re: UVMC color question

Here are the pictures of both MCs. I hope this is ok to do and it helps with comparing them. They both have orange and are different swirls.

This one was from Singapore and ended.

This one is from San Francisco:

Re: UVMC color question

You got it Paul, well done. Could this just be massive UV exposure (no pun intended) causing the pink to go orange? It just goes lighter pink doesn't it? Could they just be fluke MKR's? The one in San Fran claims to have the ATD stamp in the neck pocket. Could Darren have experimented a little from time to time? They do look legit otherwise.

Re: UVMC color question

Lots of speculating, and for what? Facts -

I asked if the guitars was IN the US or was it in Indonesia.

No reply.

Figure it's in Indonesia. No cheap shipping, no postal options, guaranteed customs will be collected.

And the clincher, IMO 99% of the guitars IN Indonesia are STOLEN!

Re: UVMC color question

The pyramids on the Singapore appear to have a darker pink compared to the San Fran one.

This one is from San Francisco:
I never saw the one on top, just the one on the bottom. There is an aweful lot of orange in those, especially the top one. Still, they look like they could possibly be real (maybe the way the pics are taken, who knows), but I think Rich is an expert on this so maybe he's right, maybe it is a scam. If the guy isn't replying to simple questions (you'd think the seller would want to in order to help the sale), then it sounds like the seller could be a con. It's a shame, the bottom one is actually quite nice.

Re: UVMC color question

I'm talking to the Australian guy about it (the really orangey UV). He has given me the serial number as 918800, and more pics are pending. Does the serial number look right? Anyone comment?

Re: UVMC color question

Yeah, both my UVs (910760 and 913373) have that same 6 digit serial# starting with 91. Nice to hear he's sending you pics too.

Re: UVMC color question

Yeah, I was talking to Cam about it too. He is the guy who won it the first time it was on. The side pics show more pink than orange so maybe it was just UV light exposure. But those two on there now with that orange in them are weird. I went over to the Ibanez Register and sniffed around and did some side by sides with pics of the 2 on the bay now and the database at the register and they just don't look at all like any on there, not just the orangey color, but the swirls themselves. You can tell an ATD and an MKR right away, and these just look different to me. Not trying to cast dispersions, they are both reaaaally nice swirls, just my opinion. Check it out for yourself and do some side by side comparing and tell me what you think.

Re: UVMC color question

BTW

I'm also not trying to say that it is a a fake either, I'm just trying to weigh up some possibilities as all in all this looks like a realy nice guitar.
