Wanna Save $250 - READ THIS!

One of my customers just explained this to me and though it took a bit for me to understand, I finally get it.

I'm sure some of you already know about this, but for those who dont Microsoft is trying to get their new search engine Live.com off the ground. They've got a promotion running with **** that allows you to buy anything on **** and get a 25% rebate from Microsoft, up to a max of $250.00. The only catch is you have to access the auction through Live.com and you have to hit the BIN and pay for the purchase with Paypal. Once complete, Microsoft will send your rebate within 60 days straight to your Paypal account.

I too was skeptical until I did some digging, but it appears to be true and several guys on the JCF have already made purchases this way.

Bottom line is this... if you're interested in buying something from me and want to save up to $250.00 on it, get in touch with me. I'll list guitars and amps by request, then you can complete the checkout through ****/Live.com and save yourself some dough-ray-me. This is for IN-STOCK merchandise only and some manufacturers don't allow me to sell on ****.

I'm going to move this thread to Vendors/Auctions.

That said, any idea how this works exactly? I actually had my eye on a Taylor 214ce and this would make the difference.

Is it an even $250? because from what I understand its a percentage of the purchase price that gets knocked off and it works for everything on the bay.

25% up to a max rebate of $250. You can also combine e bay's 10% coupon for a total of 35% savings.

Basically, any auction that has a buy it now price and is paid for via Paypal qualifies, but you have to access the items on the bay through live.com. Provided this criteria is met, you'll get a 25% rebate from Microsoft up to a max of $250.00 per item bought. Each user ID can do this 3 times, no more.

If anyone has been considering buying something from me, here's a way to save $250.00 in the process. Just tell me what you want, I'll list it for you, and you'll get the rebate.

I just sold a customer 5) high end pickups at $120.00 each and he bought them using the 25% cash back rebate offered by Live.com.

How much does that equal you ask? Well... he was quite pleased to save $150.00 by purchasing his gear this way!

I'm trying to follow this, honestly, but I don't see how you get to 'Bay auctions through Live.com. I can get to the other listed stores, but getting to the 'Bay is alluding me at the moment.

Has anyone done this with the 10% coupon from the 'bay (you enter it before you send payment)? That way it's a combined 35% off, which is pretty tempting even though the last thing I need is a guitar. I want to make sure I'm right though about using both offers, before I buy something. Anybody know for sure?
