5150 II

Hey y'all, I heard that the lead channel on the newer 5150s are supposed to be voiced differently than the originals. can anyone tell me how? I kinda thought Cody's original was ok, just a bit too harsh...(though he probably could've used some new tubes)

I tried one just the other day and I found it to have way less gain than the original in the lead channel.

if it had way less gain...it might've been a tube problem....and texshred.....the 5150 is very harsh and abrassive...it's just the nature of the amp

My guitar player has a 5150 II, and I have to say its a sweet f'in amp.

The sound is similar to his marshall silver jubile, but meaner... more growl to it.
