6505 vs 6505+

Other than the having an extra 6th preamp tube and an additional channel, is there much of a sound difference bw the 6505 and the 6505+? I tried out a Plus, and i'll have to say getting an Engl might be on hold for a little. Didn't fiddle much with the plus' clean channel, but i'm sure it sounds good.
A friend of mine likes the 6505 and says it has a slight edge over the 6505+ tone. Is there some truth to this?

Re: 6505 vs 6505+

I think you have a separate EQ for the rythem and lead on the + version. *looks it up* Yup! You also have separate Resonance and Presence dials for rythem and lead so it's worth the extra bit.
