Question

A Good Delay Pedal

Hey guys i was looking at buying a delay pedal real soon. I heard that some delays use a lot of battery power so i would like to avoid that issue , and i don't want it to cost a small fortune, thanks guys for the comments.

Re: A Good Delay Pedal

all delay pedals will use a lot of battery power... there's only 1 solution

a wall wart

yup AC power straight from your wall will do the trick.

As for what delay pedal to go for... I'd say a Boss DD-5 or DD-6 is a good choice or you can even get a Line 6 Echo Park. Both great units.

Re: A Good Delay Pedal

I'm also in the market for a delay. All I need is a simple warm sounding delay with about 500ms of delay. I'm looking for an old Ibanez DL10 or Ibanez Delay Champ. But I'm also considering the Digitech Digidelay. I haven't tried it but it seems like a good deal.

+1 ! Simple, effective, not too many bells and whistles. Once set, seldom altered. Only sold it because I got a Rocktron replifex that had a decent delay, and just for the sake of $, and keeping things as simple as possible. If you're not afraid, the new MIT DD-3 can have a little mod to make it sound more warm like the MIJ DD-3, but I cannot say my new DD-3 bothered me on that part. Since I only use these kinds of fx very mildly to just enrichen my sound, I never got any harsness/coldness problems whatsoever. If you really need these 5 secs of time, I gues the DD-5/6 will do as well.

Re: A Good Delay Pedal

Electro-Harmonix Memory Man (Stereo including chorus or Deluxe including chorus and vibrato). Analog delay - up to 300ms on the Stereo and 550ms on the Deluxe.

I've got a Stereo and it does what it says on the tin. Great pedal.

Rocktron Short-Timer -$55 sounds good and has been reliable for years of gigging.
