Re: ADA Amplification Returns!!!!!!!!

Good freakin deal! We need a modern rack mount preamp. Things have come a long way since the MP2 even though I tend to think that the Marshall JMP-1 was the only one to get it completely right at the time. The Mp2 is too sterile and the Mesa is way too complex.

Re: ADA Amplification Returns!!!!!!!!

If this is indeed true then I shall be first in the queue for a reissue MP-1

Re: ADA Amplification Returns!!!!!!!!

I thought the company went defunct years ago? Did someone just buy the rights to the name? Why bother reissuing the MP-1 anyways when the old ones only cost like less than $300 anyways?

probably because they now can design an MP-1 with no hiss and non-breaking components nor self-cancelling memory
but spite these defects, it's still the best preamp ever.

Oh man, this is very good news. I've got a good chunk of ADA gear but it's getting long in the tooth. I would love to get some brand new ones.

I dunno man, the one I had couldn't hold a candle to my Triaxis and it worked just fine, besides, what would a reissue cost now, like $2000?

Re: ADA Amplification Returns!!!!!!!!

i still have my mp1 sitting in my closet. great sounding preamp, but i really wanted to get the mods done to improve it even more. i still play through the 2x12 slant cabs. the speakers sound real warm and broken in now.

Re: ADA Amplification Returns!!!!!!!!

I had a Google expedition about this and it appears they're going to make a new preamp, to be called the MP-3. Posted about it on my blog, http://iheartguitar.blogspot.com

"David Tarnowski, head engineer and inventor of all things A/DA, continues to be majority owner of A/DA and chief engineer of the new A/DA. He still owns all rights to the A/DA electronic designs and trademark. A group of us have convinced him that the time is right to come out of retirement and resurrect the A/DA legacy. We’re starting with stomp boxes, most notably the Flanger and Final Phase, which will be re-released in late 2008/2009. We’ll continue soon thereafter with other legacy effects such as Battman and the Seamoon line, as well as the Rocket Amp series. We’re currently working with suppliers to source original parts so that these releases can be as “original” as possible – we’ve gone over the designs and have decided that the original designs were best. We’re in the early stages, but are confident that we’ll have a full line of products to present at NAMM 2009.

Of particular interest to the ADAForum board would be our introduction of the all new MP3. Still on the drawing board, the digital potential is enormous and we’re still hashing out potential functionality prior to full design. As you well know, the fight starts trying to decide what goes into a future MPx and doesn’t stop until the prototype has been demo’d and agreed upon by all. As of now, there is no release date for the MP3.

We appreciate your interest and would ask that you help pass the word that the original A/DA is back!!

Cheers – the A/DA staff"

Re: ADA Amplification Returns!!!!!!!!

A new MP is exactly what I wanted to hear. Frankly I'm not if a MP1 reissue would be a good idea because of the availability and price of the used market. I guess you never know though.

Re: ADA Amplification Returns!!!!!!!!

If the thing can pack like 5 or 6 tubes, have a complete analog path and destroy the triaxis I'm all for it.
