ADA MP1 3TM question
Hey guys
Ive just bought a UK ada mp1 3 tube mod, from ****. After i made the payment, the seller sent me this message , and i just want your opinions on it as i have never used an ada before;
should be with you end of next week , hope you like it .....only thing i should say that i forgot and is perfectly normal and not a fault is sometimes , when you turn it on you might have to turn it off then back on again thats if it does not come on the first time ,if you check the forums ada depot this is standard so dont worry its not broke , can explain more if your not sure that only happens when powering up not when using it ...also now it has the mod the clean channel is distorted this is normal too and many people like to use it like that ,it has 3 stages solid state . clean . distorted .. if you use solid state then the cleans are very clean so you still have that option ...if you need some advise on using it im happy to give you a call ......im sure you will suss it though ...cheers from mark
It always raises suspicion hearing the OH I FORGOT TO SAY line, after youve paid... so hit me up some thoughts

Re: ADA MP1 3TM question
I never had that problem with mine. Should be a fairly easy to fix for e tech head though...That would entirely ruin my good mood.
Good luck with it...

ADA MP1 CRAZE!!! I blame Courtney for telling me about it in my thread hahaha.
That is pretty crappy of the seller to do something like that but if you get it and it works fine then I would be happy.

Re: ADA MP1 3TM question
My (2) 3TMs don't do that either. I just turn them on and go.
The SS channel is still clean. It's the tube clean channels that gets a bit distorted when you install the 3TM board.

Re: ADA MP1 3TM question
hmmm bit weird. My 3TM fires up without any problem as well.
The clean SS is a pretty good clean. The tube clean turns a bit in a marshallish and brownish, I use it for a EVH setting. The Distorted channel is quite amazing. lots of tone and harmonics. You'll have a smile on your face in no time.
Just put my 3TM ultra for sale over at adadepot's forum. Hope I don't regret it, but I have to cool down things a bit on the guitar side here. Other than that I'd keep it!

Re: ADA MP1 3TM question
hi the seller is me ,,,, on the ada forum it is a common issue and not really a fault please feel free to post on ada depot they will tell you the same .... i wou;ld not sell anything faulty to anyone .... the ada is known for the start up problem , when it is switched on sometimes does not power but after the second time they do ....it cant be fixed and i would just like to say it will not turn its self off or anything or have a fault when the ada is in use ..... because i asked the guy at ada if it could and since it was ada depot that did the mod , he checked it out and said this is normal and many many other users of the ada will tell you the same also i would of had it fixed when it was getting modded but ada said it is normal and nothing anyone can do ......i did not class it as a fault but thought i would tell you about the unit to try help you incase you wonderd what the problem was , the unit works perfectly and is how it should be , i said in my e mail please contact me and i will call you and i will explain everything you need to know about the unit as the clean channel also now becomes distorted but can be used in solid state mode for clean ,,,, i was under the impression that you had done some research as you said you read about the 3tm mod and maybe it was me but thought you had been on the forum ....... please please please contact this forum and the guy who did the mod (marshall jmp ) he is well known and they or he will tell you this is normal for the mp1 unit .... to be honest i didnt think about the issue or i would have told you and i was only trying to help, i could have sold it to you and said nothing .... like i say its not something that can be fixed and in the ada circle is something that is very very normal when i got the unit i accepted that this is part of the mp1 .... the unit i sold you works fantastic and im 100% sure you wont and cant get a better one for cheaper and if you could it would still have the start up issue .... i really wish you had contacted me first , and if you feel the start up problem is an issue still, please contact me and and we can have a chat ..... i would hate for you to think you have been hard done to but if you want a 3tm ultra mod i can swear down you wont get one any better . its been a few months since it was on e bay and when it did not sell i wasnt botherd about selling it and did not re advertise it , and as i said to you i would be happy to keep it but if you offerd to buy it i would still sell it so im not trying to off load it on to someone ........ anyway im sorry if you are worried now and if i thought the unit was faulty i would never sell it to you ... all i can say is contact ada depot and they will explain why the ada is like this , or when you get the unit and you really think its a problem please contact me ... its really a case of pressing the switch twice thats all .... nothing else i can say really , i hope when you get it that you think its fantastic , and like i say if there is any problems feel free to call me , i already give you my number once , but you welcome to have it again if you lost it . dont think i could be fairer than that ..............

thats very honest of you.obviously your a decent kind of bloke to come on here and explain.but you should have stated this fault in in your sale.im not knocking you,but i think you should give the buyer the opition to back out of the sale IF he isnt happy about the on/off carry on,if its fixable and the buyer is happy to get it seen to well fair enough, but he should be given the opition weather to pay or not.just my thoughts on the matter, hope it goes well for both party's

Thats why i sent the e mail explaining and thats why i said to call me about it ...but this is the first i knew of his feelings ,,, i simply did not think about it as i go on the ada forum all the time and and its not really classed as a fault its all about wall voltage from the mains supply in the house and if his vloltage is ok then maybe it would not do this , but i cant explain you would have to go on ada depot site.. i have noticed he has gone on the ada site and said the same so hope he will find out im not lying wish he had contacted me first and talked about it , like i say i wasnt bothered about the sale of it and would have talked to him and see what he wanted to do , also he has not got it yet so he might just love it , i understand him being worried but if he had contacted me i would have talked to him about it and i still will ... and told him were to find out about what i say ,, but like i say i have nothing from him so i could not have the chance to talk about it if he is un happy ....and who says i would not offer a refund , just a bit unfair to say or imply im dodgy when i have done everything i can to be upfront ..... maybe if he just asked the question about the unit and not said anything about the seller , but if he had contacted me and i brushed him off then fair play i would understand ..... i dont want to fall out with him as i do understand why he might be worried but now he has posted on ada then hope he will understand and if he is still un happy .. i am happy to talk .... why would i go through all this bother

Re: ADA MP1 3TM question
and the fault is not really fixable as it is something that happens with loads of mp1s its very normal .... and from what i read its about power from wall sockets not the unit so it could infact be ok with his set up . but like i say its on the ada forums so cant explain better ...
