AMP FAIL ! :(

Argh !!!!

So my setup is working fine , i move it upstairs to a different room , rebuild , and its humming BAD. Tried different wall sockets , switched off all other appliances , not interference based. Tried a few guitars , not guitar fault.

Setup is charvel > isp decimator > ada mp1 3tm > g major > mesa 290 > mesa recto 2x12.

The decimator has always been set at midnight , providing perfect noise supression for higain patches. now with this extra humming i gotta turn it way up , no sustain.

The symptoms are weird too , its like my rig isnt earthed or is live or something ; when i touch the strings the hum quietens a little , if i touch the rack case surround or rack screws it also affects the hum - ive no idea what it could be , been working at it for 4 hours , HELP !

Re: AMP FAIL ! :(

Go buy a HumX and see if it resolves the problem.

Re: AMP FAIL ! :(

Could it be a problem with the wiring in that room?

Maybe try running some extension leads from another room?

Good luck.

Rock on!

Might sound stupid but you checked all cables on the back ? maybe there is a cable the has been pulled out some mm's.

Have you tried separate units on their own trough the 290 ? Or even your guitar in the 290 to isolate the humming bird ?

Re: AMP FAIL ! :(

I'm guessing it's the wiring to that room but I'll second the suggestions from Pmike to try each thing individually and if there's any difference.
