Amp oportunity
I am looking for a valve amp, something suited for metal, but I also need good cleans (Engl, Soldano, Peavey, tell me others if you know them), but used as I cant afford new equipment. My budget is 1200 max, as it is 15000pesos (mexican). Today I was offered a Laney vc30 combo plus a laney cab 2x12 for 780-800 dollars (10000-11000pesos) and my teacher who is helping to find an amp told me it could be a good deal.
Should I wait till I find something more suited for metal or this would handle all I need?
(My original idea was a Fireball, 3120, Thunder or Jsx, maybe a Bugera)
I like Petrucci, Opeth, Symphony X and similar tones, but love cleans (really cleans, not the ones that start to crunch, but Peavey just sounded to bright and lifeless to me)
I use a GT8 and need an fx loop, I want 2 channel at least and I prefer 2 channel eqs, but some eq could be made with GT8
Question: Get it or wait for a better amp suited to my need, although I know that I wont get an Engl for or even same price?
