Amp Question
Hey guys, as you might know I got a Carvin Legacy for my bday this year and it is amazing! But I have noticed if I want to play games on my computer and play guitar that there are some weird noises coming from my amp. I am guessing my GPU must put out some RFs or something and the amp is picking it up? I don't have crt monitors I have LCD's and my xbox doesn't interfere with the amp, and I use the same screen for my xbox. My friend's pc doesn't interfere with my amp though, at all. Just he has like built in GPU and I have a 2 slot beast.
Any ideas on how to stop this annoyance or will I have to live with it?

Re: Amp Question
How do you effectively play games on your computer and play your guitar at the same time?

Re: Amp Question
Hah, I somehow manage. Generally when I die I play guitar until I'm back into the game. I don't play games that often so it isn't that much of a problem but I would like to fix it still.

Re: Amp Question
My guess would be your pickups are receiving the computer signals and then from there are going into your amp, Just remember ur computer is a mess of signals and pick-ups tend to pick up any electromagnetic interference.

Re: Amp Question
Do you have any wireless/bluetooth type accessories? I have an old Logitech wireless mouse/keyboard, and it causes static through my guitar amp when I type or move the mouse. My solution is to not move the mouse or type when I'm playing guitar, and it works perfectly.
Rock on!

Re: Amp Question
just turn the volume on your guitar down when you dont play it. i usually brows the web and play guitar the same so when my guitar gets close to the comp it picks up a bunch of weird noise, but if i back away from it the noise reduces and goes away if im far enough.

Re: Amp Question
Put the amp on the other side of the room and it'll go away. If you keep on having the same problem, simply do one activity at a time.

Re: Amp Question
Fixed it, I just put my Rack on the floor, right next to the Legacy, instead of on top of my bass stuff and my dad's mesa cab that he still needs to take before I hide that thing under my bed.
I was running my rack about 4 feet away from the amp and I guess the distance and exposure of the cables made it easy for my pc to interfere with it.
