Another kind of lemon oil??

Hi everybody. I have been looking for a bottle of lemon oil here in my city, but unfortunately I can't find one. But I've found out that there is another lemon oil that is used in food and cosmetics. Will this lemon oil work in fretboards like the lemon oil I'm looking for?

Bore oil used for woodwind instruments is also acceptable.

I'll second bore oil. I use it on my rosewood fretboards and it does a great job. You can find that at music stores that sell woodwind instruments, band outlets, etc. but I haven't ever seen it in a typical guitar store because most places only stock stuff like the Dunlop/Planetwaves/etc. stuff.

Bore oil can also be found at gun stores, right? I've found these Hoppe's products:

-Elite gun cleaner
-Elite gun oil

Think about it..... A guns bore is made of what? and a guitar is made of???? so why use metal oil on wood.

Use Lemon oil or woodwind bore oil only.
Hint: Lemon oil is used to polish furniture....................
Bore oil is used on thousand/s dollar instruments.

Please just order this before you end up with motor oil on your guitar.

Lemon Oil will eat through nitro cellulose finishes, so you can safely avoid it. On the hang tags that come with all new Martin guitars is a warning to keep lemon oil away from them. Bore oil is what you want.

I think I'm just gonna keep searching for lemon or WOODWIND bore oil. Shipping is not an option.

Wonderful stuff.

Over the counter Bore oil would be a second option.

Or get LIGHT mineral oil. You could find that in a drug store.

You could also use butchers block oil, which is really just mineral oil as well.

But Bore doctor is the only way to go for me. I'd try to stay away from anything but bore oil if possible.
