Any advice for changing speakers..

Well.. being the Gasser that I am, I couldn't help but try hooking my fender hotrod deluxe up to my supersonic, strictly using the amp section of the deluxe, and connecting ONLY the v30 in my supersonic.. this changed my tone DRAMATICALLY, forcing me to use CAPSLOCK, and has made me decide to swap the two speakers TOMORROW.. The deluxe is my main amp right now, which I run into a 412 if needed (if wanted is more like it..).. I didn't bother test the sonic with the fender speaker--- i have ran it through diff cabinets before and always liked the sound I got with it... so, tomorrow afternoon, im going to take both combos into the shop (where I work,) and swap the 2 speakers..

-have any of you guys done this sort of thing before?
-will it be as easy as I think to do this?
-do you think the supersonic 'cabinet' would have much to do with the difference in tone, or is it mostly the speaker.
-should I have got a V8?? (bonks self in forehead)

yes, it will be as easy to do as you think, provided the two speakers have the same impedance....

you guys get some mighty strange juice combinations in the USA ....... (assuming V8 is the same vegetable juice there as it is here in Australia)

Re: Any advice for changing speakers..

they are both 8ohm speakers, it looks like i may have to do more taking apart on the deluxe, the sonic has quite a bit of room for the speaker to get out..

yup its the same v8
