any Jemini vs Jekyll & Hyde thoughts

Was having a look at both dual pedals since they both have an overdrive based on the Tubescreamer and a distortion on the other side.

Any thought on one or both pedals, shoot Thanks

Re: any Jemini vs Jekyll & Hyde thoughts

i have many many od and distortions although i have never tried the j/k & hyde ... i was surprised how good the gemini was infront of an already distorted amp , very transparent , infact i use it on the blue channel of my bogner extc , giving me three channels on that one channel , 4 if ya count rolling back your volume to clean up .... i was not into it being a stand alone unit for all my distortion but i dont like any pedal for that i like valve amps

Re: any Jemini vs Jekyll & Hyde thoughts

I have both. The one disadvantage for me with the jemini is that you can't use both sides at the same time and on the j&h you can. I have the newer j&h, version 2 or something.
The overdrive section is very simillar on both and not very impressive. I endeed up using it as a clean booster with very low gain settings for clean tones solowing or for chords with just a tiny bit of extra bite.
On the distortion channel, both have a lot of low end. On the j&h, when you turn the tone knob up it gets to buzzy and it is hard to find the sweet spot. on the jemini it sounds like the tone knob give you a little mid boost and makes it more crunchy.
The j&h has more gain, the gemini is clearer and even at maximum gain you can strum a chord (not just power chords) and hear every string which I like better.
I do use an eq for some mid boost for soloing with the jemini.

Hope that helped a little.

just remember that tone is very subjective and it might sound completely different with your gear.
