Any Rockman users out there? - Tom Scholz is the man

I picked up an Rockman X100 on ebay earlier this year and have gotten decent mileage out of it for recording quick demos in my home studio. For how easy it is to use and set up, the tone is absolutely amazing! This week, I go to fire it up only to find that one of the batteries inside of it spring a leak and has, for all intents and purposes, rendered the Rockman useless. And, for those of you who don't keep up with current events, Tom Scholz sold Rockman to Dunlop several years back and Dunlop doesn't offer squat for support on older Rockman gear.

Anyway, I'm now in the market for at least a new X100, maybe more. What I want to know... does anybody else out in Jemsite-land use Rockman gear, whether it be X100's, sustainers, stereo choruses, etc. At the minimum I'm sure I'll get another X100, but I'm debating getting some of the rack gear instead, such as the compressor/sustainer, distortion generator, stereo chorus, and stereo delay. Any feedback any person has on any of the above would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I used to use them - had an X100, sustainer, and distortion generator. *The dist. gen. is great if you don't need clean - it's fuzz is actually more flexible than the sustainer. *Of course the sustainer has that compressed clean sound, too.

In fact, I still have the sustainer, if you're interested.

One thing to remember - all the units are based around those basic rockman sounds, and with an X100 you're 80% of the way there, just without footswitchability or tweakability. *You're still not gonna get a triaxis sound out of a rockman. *But it's a cool sound to have on tap, particularly for stacked harmonies, or to mix in.

I have 2, one in a Rockmount. I use them for demo's or quiet practice, they're great. I never used batteries, I 've always had adapters.
