Any Suggestions for a Good Wah?
Thinkin about buying a wah.. ive had 3 or 4 in the past, i think i still have one somewheres.. My main use for it would be in jazz-fusion style music.. ive been looking at the dunlop 535q because it is adjustable, and also have been looking at the
mark tremonti
morely.. the sound clips on the site for the bad horsie wah dont appeal to me that much.. im not going to be using it in the same context as vai does-- i dont think it is what i am looking for.. anysuggestions??
original crybaby,
jimi hendrix
or anything like that is out of the question.

Re: Any Suggestions for a Good Wah?
My first waa was a crybaby and for tone my Boss walks all over it. I love it. You have so many settings, you really can make your own sound with it. The only thing I don't like about it is the lack of a volume knob. I'm picking up a Digitech soon though too (for the weird
pitch shifting
), so if it is any better overall I'll post back and let you know. :-)

Crybaby from hell, I just ditched my BH2 for one.
It's almost like a 535Q with more controls.

Re: Any Suggestions for a Good Wah?
I have to say I didn't like my crybaby classic and also the morley website's sound clips don't show at all how the bad horsie sounds. You might like the eq crybabies but the best sounding wah I've played has been the bad horsie 1, the 2 seems to sound a little different than the 1 so I prefer the 1, gave my dad the bh2

Re: Any Suggestions for a Good Wah?
I thought the 95Q was below the 535Q, atleast it used to be cheaper.
The CFH has
Extended sweep for more high end with the pedal down or low end with pedal up
5-way selector on the side
Features a kick-in boost
LED indicators inform you of status, even on darkened stages
An extra input on the left lets you go in and out on the same side
Adjustable volume boost (0 to +17dB)
Adjustable Q control modulates frequency breadth
Fine tune knob lets you adjust the toe down sweep range

CFH sounds like a winner. I do like the 535Q, though.

Re: Any Suggestions for a Good Wah?
CFH is awesome, I was against getting it just because its a signature wah but Im very happy with it.

I know what you mean, I tend to avoid signature stuff, but if it does the job well, cool.

Re: Any Suggestions for a Good Wah?
I've had at LEAST 20 different wahs over the past several years. I really liked the 535Q for awhile, but there was just something about it that wasn't quite "vocal" enough. It was too harsh. The Buddha Bud-Wah is a nice true-bypass wah that has a really smooth tone, but it was still a bit limiting.
Finally, I've settled on the Teese RMC3. The thing is phenomenal! Basically, you "set" the tone with the switches inside and leave it. Took a bit of experimenting, but I've finally gotten to the point where I can't even imagine
a better sounding wah.
