Anybody Else Play a Thermion Yet?
I tried out a Thermion last Wednesday. The store had it marked at $1,099.99 and I heard it thru it's matching cab. For a squeaky clean on the gain channel the gain has to be below 9 o'clock, after that it starts to break up unless you use the lower gain signal input switch so I didn't find it to have a high clean headroom. Okay is the verdict on cleans. The dirty had 2 modes if I recall correctly. The gain sounds were kind of non descript to me. All in all I was plugged into the amp only about 10 minutes (not that many controls on it) and just found the amp average sounding. I played 2 Bogners and a Diezel that captivated my fingers and ears more (yes I know there's a BIG difference in price). I just don't think the voicings on the Ibbie were for me. The backlit Ibanez light is sure cool though when you take the amp off standby. Anybody else have an experience with the Thermion that they'd like to share?
