I'm positive i saw some nylon Jazz II's in one of the music stores here. I'll have a check around, and if i find them i'll get them and post them over, if you like?
That's super cool of you to do, but I think I'll be alright, thanks If anyone would happen to have shape stencils for both of them to compare, that'd be cool to look at.

Re: Anybody else use the Jim Dunlop Jazz III?

I've used both the Jazz III's and the larger XL versions. All are *very* good, and if you ask me which is my favorite, it just might vary from day to day. Lately I'm leaning toward the red XL's. Alky, if you can't find any of the XL's locally, you can order them from a few different online retailers. PM me if you need help finding a retailer that has them. I get them for 35 cents a piece online.

The Tortex Jazz H3's and Tortex Jazz Black Gold 1.14's are the same shape, but made from Tortex if you prefer the texture over the stiffo/nylon material.

The Ibanez Paul Gilbert's aren't bad either, but I prefer either nylon or tortex to celluloid. Fender 551's are somewhat similar if you prefer celluloid.

Pickboy Edge's aren't bad either, but are hard to find and I don't feel they last quite as long. The Carbon Reefer I like even better, but they're damned near impossible to find in any store.

I'd play with any of the ones mentioned here; I just can't go back to a standard pick shape once I've gone pointy!

And now it looks like Dunlop is also making the Jazz III's in Ultex.

They were my absolute favourite picks until I tried to get them from ANYWHERE and failed.

I'm now using Jazz IIIs which are just as good tbh, but I'd like to get some new PGs just incase.

My only criticism of the PGs is that they seem to wear out very quickly, the Jazz IIIs seem to last a bit longer.
A guy called whiteman35 does them on 3bay.

Re: Anybody else use the Jim Dunlop Jazz III?

I have a question for those who try both the red nylon and the black stiffo version of the jazz III. I want to know the real diffence between these two please. Can someone give me a good answer.

The only discernable difference (aside from color) is that there is a bit more grip on the black ones, they have a textured finish.

The red and black ones I just got are identical apart from colour. There is no difference I can find!

That says a lot because Shawn was a ridiculously skilled picker. What a guy.

Yeah, my teacher (former close friend of Shawn) REQUIRES that I use Jazz III's, so I guess I have no choice

Edit, I mean to say Jazz III's, whoops.

I guess because they are so "magical" . I really have no idea. All I know is that I like them

Hehe. Yeah, great picks. Wish I'd discovered them sooner.
