Re: Anybody else use the Jim Dunlop Jazz III?

I like them, trying Fender Heavy's right now. Green Lantern Teeth says, "I help fight villians with my teeth."

Has anyone got the new guitar one with an article on the jazz III? It's enough to convince those that still aren't using this pick.

That's what this thread is about

But yeah, they're great picks.

Re: Anybody else use the Jim Dunlop Jazz III?

I just tried some Jazz III's (the red ones). I liked them a lot even though they are much smaller than my standard Tortex pics. I broke a string for the first time in a long time with the J-III. Maybe because it's so stiff and sharp?

Re: Anybody else use the Jim Dunlop Jazz III?

I found my perfect pick, the dunlop tortex jazz h3, its just like the JIII but bigger and its the familiar tortex material. I just couldnt get used to the size of the JIII's, loved the precision but kept losing the pick position. The H3 is perfect for me.

Try the XL Jazz III. I think I've settled on these. I like the small ones but they are just a touch too small.

Guess I should read the original post more carefully.

Re: Anybody else use the Jim Dunlop Jazz III?

anyone know where to get the Stylus pick? its ment to be great for improving picking practise. The only place in the UK ive found is Evil-bay or strings direct. Both wont take a Visa Electron. Ba*ds.

I've asked Matt to throw some of the new Ultex Jazz III's in with my DY order.
It will be very interesting to see how these new ones feel/perform in comparison to the reds.

Re: Anybody else use the Jim Dunlop Jazz III?

Just picked up a pock of Jazz IIIs. I am typically a fender medium kinda guy, but these show a certain amount of promise. The picking tonality, acoustically, at least, seems less bright and my up and down picking seem more consistant with them. Still, it's a bit of an adjustment for me. Not sure, at this point, whether or not I'll fully make the switch.

Re: Anybody else use the Jim Dunlop Jazz III?

I got a Jazz III with a set of stylus pics and the booklet. The Jazz III is really nice, I think ill stick with them from now on. Its not too thick, but its firm enough.

Stylus pic... yea, it will kill you if you slip up. Good though cause im starting to get into shreddie music so i will keep bad habits to a minimum. If only my left hand could move as fast......

Re: Anybody else use the Jim Dunlop Jazz III?

Matt McDevitt from Dunlop emailed me back about the Ultex Jazz III's.

"Thank you for your email. These picks will be shipped out to distributors and stores in the next couple weeks. Look for them mid to end of April."

Apmaman, you can mail order the Stylus pick directly from Dunlop.

Re: Anybody else use the Jim Dunlop Jazz III?

Thanks for the info, Powerslave. It's a shame they aren't coming out earlier. I might have to get them sent out seperately, if that's the case.
