I use the 'Eric Johnson' verison of the Jazz 3, red but there stiff as hell!

I have been using the III Reds for about a year now exclusively. It's to the point that everything else feels wierd.

You mean the XL's or regular Red III's?

I'm in the same boat with the XL's. Nylons technically feel the same, but the attack when I play just feels lacking

i refer to them as "the magic pick"

my students are baned from using any other picks other than the jazz3 picks... XD

I've been using jazz 3's for as long as i can remember. my original guitar teacher showed them to me on my first lesson, and i fell in love. currently, i use the 1.38mm, but i think i'm going to check out the Vpick 1.5's

Try a Small Rounded Lite. It's a bit thicker than any Jazz III, but the Ultra Lite is way thinner, almost like a microscope coverglass. But also try the Ultex version of the Jazz III.
