Anyone know anything about the Epiphone Les Paul Gothic?

Anyone know anything about the Epiphone Les Paul Gothic? I was thinking about buying it and I just wanted some opinions. . .

I had one briefly when i first started playing

bought it at a used merch. auction for $85 bucks

it was a good guitar for the money, killer looks too.

If you upgrade the hardware it'd be stable enough for gigging.

What are you gonna be playing, what are you going to be playing it thru, and how much is the price?

I know enough about epiphones to say its best play before you buy, but that is with any guitar from any manufacturer.

I was lucky enough to find some amazing epi's right off the rack at GC(now my favorite guitars lol!) But I've played some pretty dodgy ones too. It might have been more due to the setup of said dodge ones, but there's really no way to tell in hindsight.

I'd say go for it.

I played one and wasn't in love. Really clunky and heavy, and the build quality around the neck and frets were kind of poor. Obviously if you can find one for $85 like the other poster, fine, but I think they are more $299 at a regular shop. For $299, I suggest looking into an Agile LP copy or something, which should have the same ****ty hardware and much better build quality. www.rondomusic.com

+1, I own 2 epis, a g400 and a lp studio, both are awesome, the sg was pure luck since my father bought it for me, the lp i recently bought it, its a 2005 one that a friend of mine was selling, I have played several epiphone guitars and some have been great and some have been very dissapointing, though both of them that I have are great and have way better fretwork than the equivalent gibsons that I have played/owned.

I had an Epi SG G400 that was supposedly from the Custom Shop, not a bad $300 guitar, but no where near the guitar my real 61 RI is.

as I said I have played some epi´s that are horrible, but luckily both mine are fantastic, so If you try several of them you should find a really nice one
