Im looking for an amp for live use, and Im giving serious thought to the Carvin V3. The featureset on this amp is just what Im looking for. I'm intrigued by the soundclips Ive heard around the web...
How is this amp? Right now Im using a
Peavey Classic 50/50
tube power amp with my Boss GT8. Its OK. Id like to have an all-tube signal path and just use my GT8 for effects and MIDI channel switching though.
I'm also considering a TriAxis (a used TriAxis is right around the price of a new V3), and using my Peavey until I can afford a 2:90.
How is the V3 as far as low end definition? I *know* the TriAxis can give me a super tight, focused tone - but Im almost lookng for a little more 'girth' and spread right now. Like the tone of UnEarth's 'The Oncoming Storm' or an older InFlames album vs Lamb Of God's 'Sacrament' or John Petrucci's rhythm tone.
I do play a 7 string exclusively though, so its kinda crucial that the low end of the amp isnt all muddy and nasty for fast rhythm playing, etc.
Thanks!
