Arion pedals

My first ever effect was an Arion MMP-1 Metal Plus distortion. I still have it somewhere, though it's in pieces and pretty much unusable. I'd love to find another one for nostalgia's sake. I've noticed that this brand is still active, but they don't have a website, and they don't seem to make the Metal Plus any more. There's a pedal which looks identical called simply 'Distortion' and the model number is MDS-1. Does anyone happen to know if they just changed the name of the Metal Plus (since it wasn't a very metal sounding pedal)? I've found numerous sites selling the MDS-1, but I'm not interested unless it's the same pedal as the MMP-1 under a different name.

I've also noticed that the original version of their analog chorus pedal seems to sell for about $250 now on auction sites instead of the $50 or so they went for when they were new. Craziness!

Re: Arion pedals

Seriously? $250 for an Arion pedal? Maybe it comes with $245 hidden in the battery compartment.

I know, I was shocked! In this thread, http://www.thegearpage.net/board/sho...d.php?t=149536 - which shows the pedalboards of various guitarists, lot of famous names seem to have Arion chorus pedals.

I've heard that as well. Not only that, but they're fairly expensive in the used market. I had the newer version of the SCH-1, which wasn't bad at all. Clearly, their biggest problem is the cheap construction of their pedals. The knobs are very flimsy and the plastic housing isn't too assuring.

Re: Arion pedals

i was looking into getting an arion chorus for my boutique pedal setup, but I ended up settling with a simple EH nano clone.. all I will use it for is a leslie sound, and its only 50$ so if i dont like it i will sell it IMMEDIATELY..

Yep - it is. Arion effects pedals are back on the market, and now it's the Arion SCH-Z. Just Google "arionpedals" to find us and buy.
