Axe-FX coming Monday! woo hoo!! anyone use it with a 2/50/2?

I bit the bullet and decided to replace my JCM800/G-Force combination with a VHT 2/50/2 and an Axe-FX Ultra which will be in my hands come Monday.

Anyone run this setup? Curious to hear some feedback as far as high gain use on the Axe-FX.

Not yet. I'm on the list for an Ultra though. Wanna hear myself if all the buzz is true or not, as I'm quite scheptical it'll be superior to my Triaxis-Eventide combo. But for the majority of people, it seems to be the greatest invention since the Coca-cola.

As far as comparing amps, I only use Mesas, so won't be of much help there.

I went to the forum and listened to some people's creations. Sounds pretty wicked to me and I like how everyone shares patches and things unlike the G-Force community. There's a video on YouTube showing how to create a patch. Seems fairly easy. The G-Force is easy but I heard not so great things about the Eventide being hard to navigate.

I pretty much want it for the effects and harmonizing as I sold my Digi IPS-33B. I use an ADA 3TM Ultra+ for distortion and that thing ain't going anywhere. I dig the brown sound you get with the Axe but I don't see it replacing my 3TM.

FWIW I signed up on the list in the first week of April so it pretty much took 4 months to get. Comes to about $1950 with shipping.

They Axe-FX is pretty well regarded by ex-Mesa users - I gather the designer is a big Mesa nut, and his models are about the closest thing to the real thing that anyone's played.

I haven't been blown away by the clips I've heard (great for a modeler, but still lacking something), but I don't know how much of that is the fault of the user, the fault of the Axe-FX, or latent tube snobbery on my part coloring my judgement.
