backstop vs esp arming adjuster

I'm getting my first ibanez next month, a jem with ebony fretboard, and i want to put in a device such as a backstop. ive heard a lot of good things about the backstop and ive also heard many good things about the esp adjuster. But, ive heard that the arming adjuster cuts down flutter and the backstop doesnt. is this true? and also i want to hear your views on both the backstop and esp arming adjuster.

Thanks
~Newb

Where did you hear about the Arming Adjuster doing that? That's the first I've heard of it. I certainly hope it doesn't because I plan on buying some too.

not really, the ESP keeps added tension on the bar from dive to pull up, where as you will only feel the BS when you pull up and when you return to zero point.

Re: backstop vs esp arming adjuster

whoops, here to correct myself, I thought you were talking about the tremsetter. the ESP Arming adjuster is almost identical to the backstop in both form and function...

Re: backstop vs esp arming adjuster

The ESP Arming Adjuster and the Backstop are virtually identical in the way it works. I just find the Arming Adjuster to be a bit more "solid" than the backstop. I've had both and I now use the ESP Arming Adjuster exclusively on my guitars.

Re: backstop vs esp arming adjuster

If the backstop and Esp arming device are similar, how does the hipshot Tremsetter compare to both? Because their a little easier to get your hands on. If anyone knows I'd like to know as I'm planning on getting something like this for my Ibanez later on.

The tremstter is for going between full float, dive only, and fixed. It doesn't act as a stabilizer really.

Ah now I remember what that is, I remember hearing it wasn't too great. I'll totally back up the ESP arming adjuster though.
